Hello readers and welcome to another review! smile Today, this review is going to be on the HGUC RX78-2 35th anniversary 1/144. For any gundam fan, of the anime or the Model kits, the RX78-2 is the most iconic, being that it was the first Gundam that dates back to 1979. Since then, Gundam has become a worldwide phenomenon, but the RX78 has remained at the top of the gundam hierarchy since its debut. There are many different types of model kits for this guy, and for the most part, they are all great! The one that I am reviewing is the 35th anniversary edition that came out in 2015. If you don't know which kit to get, since there are so many, just look at each on and see which one you like more, design wise or just the look or even what accessories that he comes with. smile
To start off, this kit was fantastic and easy to build! -Thumbs up- I had no trouble putting him together, and the mechanical detail that he has looks fantastic! This is supposed to be a 1/144 scale version of the statue that was in japan, so you can definitely see it in this MS. He has great articulation and pretty much can do any pose that you wish, even the final shot pose, that you'll see with the pictures below. There is quite a bit of panel lining to do with this kit, to make him stand out, but even if you choose not to, he still looks great! They give you 2 sets of hands, one that are for fists, and a separate hand for the bazooka and the rifle that he comes with. He has a few accessories: The main shield and the Gundam rifle, the bazooka, and his two beam sabers, which the hilts fit perfectly in the backpack. smile I only really had one minor complaint, and that was I wish they would have included the gundam hammer or beam trident, but that's okay, because they do give you the basic accessories, which was great! Most of the revived kits of the HGUC are great and even the older line have aged very well. smile
I would highly recommend this kit for you if your just starting out, or want to get a RX78-2 for your collection. I think everyone should have at least one, and this version was such a good experience and fun build. If you haven't watched the first series, I would suggest you give it a try, you'll definitely learn a thing or two about Gundam and they even have a manga series that you can read as well. smile Below are the pictures that I took for this guy, enjoy!
