Hello again everyone! Thank you for taking the time to look at my reviews. smile Since I started doing these reviews in my journal, I feel like I've really gotten better since starting, and better at building and panel lining my model kits. It just blows me away when I look at how many of you view my reviews. 0.0 I plan on after this Christmas, to start painting some of the FG's that I have. (Best place to start is the FG Rx78 wink ) So I just wanted to say thank you very much!
For my last HGIBO kit, I will be reviewing the HGIBO Rebake, Full City 1/144. Now I know the name is a bit silly, but the MS is nowhere near that. I have to say that I loved the character Akihiro, he was one of my favorites, and I always loved seeing his MS through the show. The color scheme on this MS is great! I love the sandy brown and black with white. smile I've always been a fan of desert color schemes, so I was very excited when I bought this guy! The design of this MS is great, but there are a few problems and issues that makes me sad because of how much better he could have been. sad For starters, the head, is basically a bunch of stickers, there are so many stickers that you have to use for this kit, and most of them are from the head. Instead of individual pieces of plastic, they made you be either forced to paint the whole head in 5 different colors, or use the awful stickers, which is what I had to do. sad The 4 arms design was fantastic! I loved that he looks like a scarab, and that we don't have too many invertebrate themed MS. -thumbs up- The hands were sadly very poorly made. They have a hard time holding up the ridiculous hedge clippers that are supposed to be the main weapon, but they don't give the model a rifle, which is something that he also used. I put customized hands on him and gave him a custom rifle, and that really helped out a lot! He now can hold his huge rifle that looks more like what he used in the anime. The main weapon is so heavy, that you will have a hard time making him hold it and keeping it for a photo, this is the only weapon that they give you. They also give you a separate head, that is supposed to make his antennas go back into the head, it would have been better if they just made it to where the one head could retract the antennas, but I just let him have his one head, and that's fine. smile Other than that, there weren't any issues, and it may seem like I was picking it apart, but those were really the only issues that I thought were wrong with the kit.
All in all, I loved building him and I was a fan of the design and the pilot, so I was able to work through all of downsides, which aren't too many. smile So if you liked the look and was a fan of the MS, or the older ones, I would still recommend picking him up! It may take some time, but he does look good when hes finished. Below are the pictures that I took of him, enjoy!
