Deadpan's Thoughts
I write about my thoughts and experiences through the day.
End of the week.
SO, Thursday is the end of the school week for me and I'm JUST now getting this to you on Friday morning, sorry. The weather was gorgeous yesterday. Barely a cloud in the sky, breezy, and a high of 75 degrees. This is perfect transitional weather and I was just soaking it up. Ok, so, I was supposed to meet my professor/employer at around 9 this morning to help her with some work. Er, I stayed up until 1 the night before and I set my alarm for 8:30 so I could take a shower. That wasn't happening and I set the snooze on my phone for at least 5 times until 9:30. I said to myself, "Next time, next time. I'll get up this time." Of course, that didn't happen so, I got dressed and did all the waking up rituals. I felt like looking good without wearing a dress shirt so I picked out my white and mutli-striped short-sleeve from Airwalk[got from Ross for 9.99 mofo's] layered under with a black tee and my infamous black beanie. Dang, I looked so fly and felt fly as heck too. It's so hard looking at myself in the mirror sometimes, dang. Afterwards, I departed the house around 10:30 and I was very surprised to see hardly anyone on the road so late in the morning. I could rule the town from 8:00-10:00 in the morning if I wanted to. Fast forwarding to the campus parking as usual I found that my reserve, fail-safe parking lot was filled to capacity, or was it? NO, it wasn't. I saw one lady backing out and being the impatient person I am, I circled around so I didn't have to wait. Lo and behold, another of the same car snaked me and she JUST entered the parking lot too. I didn't lose my cool, though. Way too chill for that. I did almost lose it when I noticed my left-over pizza stack was noticeably shorter from the night before. Right, so I turned trying to get a "good spot" actually on campus. Bad idea. I really should know that the beginning of the year is infamous for having no spots. I circled once and had to hit the main road and enter this campus-claimed house in front of my reserve parking spot. Thank God no one parks there so I had plenty of room on the driveway round-about. NOW, we get into me being in the classroom. First class at 10:50 on T/TH is Hainline's English Comp. 2. I'm about 10 minutes early so I take a seat and see this kid working feverishly on his homework in the back. I assume he's in high school since he has a binder, lol. Dumb assumption, but, w/e. Not too long after I see this girl [who's name I forgot. I'm bad with names unless I like you.Eek.] walk in and I strike up a conversation about how I see her everyday in our classes and we should just collaborate already and be done with it. Also, note to self, make contact with Christy?, Kristy? She was in my same class in English so, need to work with her too. I'm going to form a study group/team and conquer English 2 together. It also doesn't hurt that she is pretty darn cute and looks like Christy Carlson Romano except more light-skinned and lighter hair. Anywho, Er, English is boring, so we're just going to move to Environmental Science at 12:05-2:25. Our instructor, Dobberstine, suggests we have class outside and so we high-tail it to a ledge and we discuss in detail the packets we were assigned to read and environmental issues at hand. I must say, the information that was discussed was just like music to my ears. My classmates knew what they were talking about and we taking into account each other's opinions and having INTELLIGENT discussion without arguments. Just sitting there and soaking it in made me feel like my IQ was going up during the discussion. My word, it was amazing if you like that kind of debate and throwing around of ideas and opinions. It made me realize how much I really love the environmental and re-affirmed my calling in the Natural Science field with Environmental Science as my passion. I know I've mentioned this in my profile information, but you just don't understand, nor can you see how much I love nature. The sights, the sounds, being one with the wild. I really do not how to convey this in words. The sight of trees being cut-down left and right and fields being lost to construction hits home and really makes me sad. Taking away precious land for future generations to enjoy that I have until it was ripped apart for newer subdivisions. The lands I fished, played with friends in, and wandered with are now gone. I truly apologize for not conveying the intensity of my love for the natural world and it's splendor. Text can never express how I feel on subjects I am passionate about. Oooh, tear-jerker moment there. I do have feelings too sometimes. Also, after the discussion Dobberstine made un introduce ourselves and our major and about 4/8 people in the class were Natural Science majors, so that really surprised me. One of those people happened to be a girl named Eunice. She is interested in the generality of this field of science and I could talk with her about experiences, so that's really great since I needed a way to talk to her anyway.xP She is FINE too. Her skirt, boy, whoo, wee too short. I only looked once and it wasn't a OMG/PERV look,so, back up. I'm going to have to coax her into revealing if she has a man, and then pounce. I could see potential with her. Robert's out to get his this semester. I'm not the shy kid from yesteryear. I know what I am, what I'm working with, so, people of Lee College, watch out.
