    Ow.

“That really hurt,” I rubbed my head and opened my eyes. I looked around and saw that we were in a cell. Rakko and Chief were both bruised on their cheeks, except Chief’s looked a bit worse. Maybe it was because he spit on the officer, maybe not. I wouldn’t know.

    “Wow, you look screwed.”

I realized that Rakko had said those words towards me. I touched my face and felt a sting of pain. Rakko helped me sit down and they started to tell me what happened after they woke up. Rakko woke up first and stole a key from one of the cell guards. They told me that Chief woke up about an hour after that, and they started to plan an escape.

“Aiden, I’m serious, we need to be stealthy,” Rakko explained,” The more quiet we are, the better. Got it?”
“Got it,” I replied,” So what’s the first step?”

Rakko drew out an invisible map that, oddly, only Chief and I can see. The other two members, Alecs and Travus, (whom were back at base at this time) have to rely on the three of us for directions.

“I don’t know how we’re going to get pass the first few officers-“
“Lets smoke the place up,” I interrupted.

    “What? Are you serious?”
    “Why not? It’ll work.”
    “No.”
    "But seriously-"
    "No."
I looked at him. He was quite serious about his answer. He’s the plan-maker, not me. So I guess I got to let this one slide. I looked down as he sighed, and the three of us just kind of sat there.

Chief broke the silence, “We are Neverender. We fight..”

    “We fall..” Rakko continued.

“We rise again,” I finished. We put out fists together and smiled at each other. Even in the toughest of times, we can act as a family. When I have them, I feel safe. Time passed, and we ended up in a moment of silence again. Chief stood up and pulled out a pocket knife.

“Where’d you get that?” I asked him.

    “Had it,” Chief said.

“You mean the Codex didn’t take it from you?”

    Chief looked bored, “Guess not.”

While he played with his pocket knife, me and Rakko stared at each other. Finally, Rakko got up and grabbed the knife from him. Chief pouted for a second, but let it go. Rakko paced back and forth, stopped, stared at the window, then looked at me with his eyebrows raised.

    “What?”
