• Lexa was calming down, the rhythm of the arrows hitting target soothing her. The kid who had called Ariana had also held her to the bench, and was just returning from washing the blood from his hands. When he spotted her, he came and sight beside her. When he was within earshot, a certain exasperation with males took hold of her as she threw her her hands up defensively. "I'm taken."
His mouth split into a smile, and he laughed. "That's fantastic, so am I, but I wonder with whom are you taken?"
The embarrassed glush that had crept up her face from his first few words drained. It took her a second, but she put together what he said. She closed her eyes and blew out a breath. "What rumors are spreading?" she asked, almost not wanting the answer.
"Well," he started, "Yesterday I heard you were hooking up with some new Midnight--"
    "James," she substituted.
"--James, right." He paused, and gave her a quizzical glance. "So its him?"
"Quite honestly I'm not too sure myself, but, please, do continue."
