• “Bye bye!” I said, and then closed my eyes tightly.
I fired the gun, and there was a great noise. Before I even opened my eyes, there was a scream that came from above me somewhere; it was of a woman’s scream.
I looked up and saw a woman in a baby blue night gown staring down at me, with a phone in her hand. She looked bewildered.
I was confused, so I walked up to the boy to check how badly he was hurt. He looked as bewildered as the woman.
“W-w-what the heck did you just do?” he struggled with his words, not blinking.
“I just saved our lives from a gangster dude!” I replied seeming even more confused now.
“That wasn’t any gangster dude; it was a freaki’n police officer!” he seemed annoyed now, but the horror in his eyes was still there.
“W-w-what?” I raised my eyebrow, shaking my head.
“J-JUST GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!” he screamed
He tried to get up and run, but his wounded thigh kept him down. I dropped the gun, not comprehending what had just happened.
“T-then why was he threatening to kill us?” I whispered, looking down at my hands, which were shaking furiously with fright.
“FIRST OF ALL, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU ANY WAY!” he yelled
I started to cry, and the world spun around me furiously, not slowing down. I felt as though someone had lifted the ground away, as if it were a carpet, and then I was falling. The last thing that I could make out before passing out, was the wail of sirens and then someone urging me to get up.

I woke up to find myself in a broken barnyard, it was probably abandoned. I could tell because of the broken ceiling that let hints of the sun peak in.
Sun? It was morning? How long had I been here for?
    “Hello?” I croaked.
The response I received was silence. I moaned feeling achy all over, and tried to get up. I was on a bed of hay, off the ground. To my left, on the ground, was a lump that had red stuff everywhere on the hay on the ground. It was the boy.
I hopped off my bed of hay forgetting the pain travelling inside me. I turned the boy around, he was unconscious. I put my ear to his chest; fortunately I heard a distant thump thump. He was alive! Relief washed over me as he let out a soft moan.
“Hey, um, dude? Are you okay?” I realized that I still didn’t know his name.
He groaned and then coughed a bit, a few minutes later he opened his eyes. He looked like he was going to die.
“Listen! You better run far away from here, ‘cause the police probably know everything about you. I’m guessing it’s because of that bag you left behind; maybe it had some of your ID stuff in it. The police are probably looking for you right now” he gasped
“But I don’t know where to go!” I said, starting to cry.
“Just go somewhere far away, where no one will find you” he said
“Why are you doing this?” I suddenly blurted without thinking
“I don’t know; maybe ‘cause you saved me before.” he shrugged
“Go right now! I don’t think I’ll live much longer so here take my wallet” he reached into his jacket and took out a brown wallet.
I took it from him and thanked him. And then I headed towards the exit of the barn, when suddenly I remembered something was bothering me. I turned to face the boy, who had his eyes closed, but I knew he was still alive.
    “What’s your name?” I asked
The boy’s eyes opened in surprise, and his head turned my direction. And then he smiled and replied.
    “My name’s Bryan.”
“G` bye Bryan, and thanks for everything you did for me”, I started to cry all over again and then turned around running away into the thick green forest.
    *flashback ends

The film has ended, and now I`m more comfortable. I think I should go back home, but something always stops me, so I shouldn’t go. Luckily, I found this, once, broken hut. I don’t know how far home is for me, but the only thing that`s been on my mind for two months is Kenny, and whether he is okay. Is he even alive?
I walk down the creaky floor and look out the window. The sun`s rays are like ribbons streaming in through the window, illuminating the forest surrounding me. The birds are chirping gaily and the mosquitoes are flying around freely.
I don’t know where this is, but I`m still not comfortable calling it my new home. After all, isn’t this, what I wanted? Didn’t I want total freedom, even if it meant total isolation from the world?
Then I guess I got it.
