• I wake up the next morning, still smiling to myself about having Le over the night before. I rolled over and almost fell off the bed. I got scared, but didn't make any noise as I pulled myself back up.

    Once I straightened myself, I started messing with my dark brown hair. My bangs have grown a little past my chin, which I was happy about. However, there is one sharp curl at the end of the left part of my bangs that always annoyed me. As I played with and pulled on it, I remember what Le said when I complained about it one day:

    I like the curls; they make you look extra cute.

    I close my eyes and smile as I wonder if Le is still sleeping. After a few minutes, I slowly climb out of bed and play some music. I silently rock out to News From Verona, lipsing the lyrics and dancing. Then I barely hear Mom's bedroom door open. I wait for the song to end and head into the kitchen to get something for breakfast.

    "Morning, kiddo," I hear Mom call after I open the refrigerator door.

    "Mornin'," I say back as I reach into the cabinet for a glass.

    I have a small, yet satisfying breakfast of strawberry pop-tarts and chocolate milk. When I finish and throw my trash away, I turn to face Mom in the living room while she messes around on her laptop and smile. She smiles back, "What's up?"

    "Thanks for letting Le come over yesterday."

    "You're welcome. Did you two have fun?"

    I smiled more as I thought back to the previous evening, "Yeah, we had a great time. Could he come over again soon?"

    To my suprise, she answers my question with a reassuring tone, "Le's welcome over anytime; just tell me in advance."

    "Thanks, Mom!" I want to jump for joy or do a dance; we're one step closer to Mom accepting and trusting Le. I go into my room and turn on my Xbox 360.

    I sign into Xbox Live and start playing SoulCalibur IV, trying to practice so I can beat Le at least once the next time he comes over. As I'm practicing, I get a text from Nina:

    Hey, wat r u doing 4 spring break?

    Idk yet. Y?

    Elizabeth and Lisa want us to help them with their dvd project & make a skit. U in?

    Sounds good. I'm sure my mom wouldn't care if i help.

    Cool. They wants us 2 meet them at steak n' shake next saturday. If u need me to, i'll buy for u

    I go to talk to Mom about the plan with the girls, and she said yes. I then decided my plans for break: I'm going to try to spend as much time with friends as I can.
