• My name is Shaun. Shaun Grimm. Every generation, thousands are born with this gift. We call it Aura, because your power depends on your Aura. You can manipulate or summon an element, such as water or fire. I can control fire. I am called a Pyro-Wielder. My best friend, Ashley, has water as her Aura. She is called an Aqua-Wielder. There are dozens of different Aura's. I grew up in New York, but it isn't like it was before. It is seperated by sections, not cities. There's East, West, South, North, and Central. I was born in and grew up in East New York. I was brought up amongst street fights and roberies that envolved Aura. It is used for alot of conflicts and struggles. Aura Wielders are now in the military to help fight wars, Street fights, Gangs, even lowly robbery. But, it has also helped bring new life, too. Earth-Wielders help keep our planet a green planet every day, and Metalic-Wielders help with manufacturing and producing. The kost popular use for Aura, though, is the colliseum, located in Central New York. You can't miss it, it's HUGE. I always dreamed of fighting there while I grew up with my sister and my dad. My mom died months after I was born. I was so exited when I turned 15, the minimum age for entering the world tournament. For my Birthday, I got a motorbike, so I decided to drive it to the colliseum. It wasn't until nightfall that I took off. My dad would never have let me go if knew I was leaving. I tied my bed sheets to my desk leg and flung the other end out the window. I crawled down and walked my motorbike out of the driveway. I acually walked it up a block before starting it, so I wouldn't get caught. I wasn't used to getting in trouble, but the thrill of doing something wrong made it feel sooo right. I didn't go directly to Central New York. I made a quick stop at Ashley's house. She was sneaking out also. She hopped on the back of my bike after running across her dew-soaked lawn and said
    "Let's go. I can't wait."
I smiled back at her and told her
"Yeah, me too. I've waited my whole life for this."
We smiled at each other and I drove us off into the neon city street lights. It was a swift drive up until I was blindsided by a very painful 'WHACK' to the face. I flew off the bike, and took ashley with me. I looked up and a thug with a metal baseball bat stood before me. He had a white muscle shirt, some tan baggy cargo pants, and a dirty pair of nike's. He wore a do-rag on his head, topped by a backwards cap. He held the handle of the bat in one hand and tapped it against the palm of his other hand. He drew the bat back and I saw what was coming: A pair of broken ribs, a twised ankle, and a whole lot of ouch. I drew my hand out as the thug swung down at me. I caught the bat with my hand. It hurt like hell, but I tried not to show it. I focused my Fire into my hand. My hand turned red, and so too did the bat. It was burning, and the thug flew his hands up in pian and shock. The bat was melting when I realized I was still burning it. The thug had taken off into an alley way. I got up and shouted
"Ha! How do you like me now! Huh? You want a piece of me?"
My smile faded when I turned around. A deep voice said
"No, I want the whole thing."
I looked up at the huge man before me. He was at least 7 and a half feet tall. He took off his jacket and threw it to the curb. Here came the ouch. He swung his dark fist around at my face and I swear my face turned snow-white. I couldn't move. This man was a Shadow-Wielder, so he was controling my shadow to make sure that I didn't move. He swung his fists left, right, left, right, left, right, and finally he stopped and said in his deep voice
"Ha, this is too easy. I should probably just kill you, but where's the fun in that?"
This is where I could turn the table around. He let off his guard. I wasn't being shadowed anymore. I flew my leg up. Straight up in between his legs. The man puckered his lips, grabbed his waist, and dropped to his knees. I summoned a flame that enveloped my entire hand, and I swung around as hard as I could. The mans face flew in the direction that I had punched, along with a large wad of spit and the rest of his body. He just layed there, unconsious. Ashley came up from behind with her eyes wide open.
"Do you know who you just knocked out?"
