• I Blushed and tucked my hair behind my ear.
    "You see I-"
    "Who is that? Kevin interrupted.
I turned to look behind me and see onyx walking in from the hall way.
Even when he walked he was beautiful.
"I'm Onyx, the new guy." He answered with a sour look on his face.
Kevin lifted his chin and narrowed his eyes. "Ah, I see." He spoke quietly.
"I had ran into Fayla in the hall. I was just about to ask her what had happened to her beautiful face when she ran off."
Kevin stepped in front of me and glared at him.
"That's none of your business Onyx."
Onyx smiled slightly and nodded once. His small smirk was just as dazzling as a normal smile would be.
"I understand. The bound between a man and he woman are always the strongest bonds."
Kevin blushed slightly but kept his ground.
"Fayla isn't my girlfriend. She's a long time friend of my sister and I."
Onyx's smirk grew wider, I could tell his was trying to get under Kevin's skin.
"Ah, so she's free for anyone to take?"
Kevin let out a small sound that resembled a hiss. "She's not up for grabs. Especially for someone like you."
I stood there, behind Kevin in awe. How could two guy like Onyx and Kevin be fighting over me? It was almost as if they'd been doing this for years.
They stared each other down before Kevin grabbed my wrist and pulled me away.
"Come on Fayla, we have to go."

    Chapter 4
The finale bell of the school day rang. Students ran out of the classrooms and halls. Matt and I walked out of English together talking about Amber and Tiffany.
Matt had wanted to ask Amber to prom but didn't know how to ask her or how to go through with it. I ended up telling him about how Marcus has asked Tiffany to the prom and what he had told her.
"Your kidding right? You in love with him? He's the one who's in love with you. He's been following you around since the sixth grade."
I laughed and agreed with him. "Exactly, even Tiff knows that."
We walked around the corner to the Math hall when we spotted Onyx.
He was leaning against the end of the lockers looking our way.
His arms folded across his chest, left leg over right leg. His hair falling into his face slightly, that small smirk across his face.
I looked to the floor embarrassed that I was even looking at him. Matt looked at me then back at Onyx.
    "Do you know him Fayla?"
I nodded. "yeah, that's the new guy everyone keeps talking about. His name is Onyx."
Matt stopped and looked at me. "He's really good looking."
I nod and start to walk again trying to avoid meeting his gaze as much as I could.
Matt and I walked out into the courtyard which was filled with students by then. Matt hugged me good-bye and ran off to Amber. I searched the courtyard for Tiffany and Kevin but didn't see them. I had decided to go wait by the car, if they were any where in the courtyard they'd come tot the car at some point.
Slowly student by student left the school and still no sign of Tiffany or Kevin.
I grew worried, not just for my friends but for myself as well.
Finally I gave up and began to walk home. I figured if I were to be getting home late, I might as well have some quiet time to myself.
As I passed the the Food Market, a white dodge pulled over next to me.
The dark tinted window rolled down and Onyx sat in the driver's seat.
"Need a ride?" He asked looking a bit worried.
Normally I would have said no, but the fact my father would be home soon I didn't pass up the chance.
"Yeah." I said walking to the passenger seat.
I climbed in and looked at him.
"Thanks, I really needed this. Normally Kevin would take me home but he nor his sister showed up."
Onyx smiled slightly and pulled into traffic. As he drove, he seemed cool and relaxed. Almost like he knew the truth.
"Up at the next light turn Left." I said blushing realizing how loud my voice sounded.
We stopped at the red light waiting for it to turn green.
"So, what happened to your face? If you don't mind me asking."
The light turned green as I looked at my hands.
"I fell on a bunch of rocks yesterday."
Onyx grunted as he turned onto the street I told him to.
"If I had a dime, but if that's the story, I guess your sticking with it."
I looked up and sighed realizing just how close I was to getting home.
"The next stop sign after this one turn right. I'm the house at the very end."
Onyx looked at me and nodded with a sad look upon his face.
He pulled into my drive way and looked around.
"Nice place you have here. Maybe one day you'll invite me in."
    I grunt and climb out,
"Thanks again." I said before shutting the door and heading to the porch.
He pulled out of the drive way and drove off. I walked into the house and shut the outside world behind me.
    Chapter 5
Around seven my father walked through the door. I had dinner on the table and the entire house clean. He set his lunch box down and sat down looking at the food I had set before him, he sighed. I had thought it was going to be a quiet night. He was going to drink and watch the game and I was going to clean and stay clear of him.
My father ate his food slowly, looking as if he were thinking.
Finally he set his fork down and looked at me.
"Fayla, we're having company tonight. Joyce is coming over, she's going to bring a few drinks and we're going to hang out. She isn't found of children as you know and she definitely doesn't like you. So you're going to have to stay outside in the yard until she leaves. "
I sat there dumbfounded, I couldn't believe my own flesh and blood was going to put me in the yard over so woman. My mind told me to suck it up and go do as he said. Instead I found myself fighting back.
"You can't do that!" I yelled slamming my hands on the table.
"You can't just kick me out of my own house because of some whore who doesn't like me. If anyone should stay in the yard it's you and her."
"For heaven sakes John, I'm your daughter. I should come first. Not be treated like a dog."
As soon as the words came out, I had wished I kept quiet.
My father stood from the table and threw me against the wall by my throat in one fluid motion.
"I'm your father, you do as I as. Joyce is not a whore. If anyone is it's you Fayla. Now get your crap and get the hell out of my sight. For all I care you can leave and never come back. It'll be better without a screw up in the house any ways."
He threw me down and walked away. I didn't take time to hesitate. I ran to my room gathering as much clothing and things I could before he came to find me. Just as I packed my last shirt, I heard him stumbling down the hall. He was dragging something against the wall.
"Fayla baby, daddy has a surprise for you."
I grew scared and panicked. I looked around my room for some way to escape. My eyes rested upon the window and I nodded. Running over to it I prided the seal loose and yanked it open, glancing behind me to see how much time I had. I grabbed my things and threw them into the yard. I had just began to climb out myself when my father opened the door. I jumped out the window, grabbed my things, and pushed myself as far against the wall as I could.
"Fayla?" I heard him question. "Fayla where are you?" He stumbled around in my room until he reached the window. He leaned out and looked into the darkness.
"Huh, guess the little brat ran off again. I'll get her though."
He shut the window and stumbled out the room.
I gasped for air realizing I had been holding my breath. I grabbed my bags and snuck out the yard heading toward Tiffany's house.

(want more? it gets better I promise Tell me you want more so I'll type it up. if you don't tell me who will I know?)
