• Chapter One
    Nightmare

Alabama knew that all of the unknown creatures wanted her. Dead. But she wasn't going down without a fight, even though she only knew the basics it wasn't going to be easy to kill her, she'd make sure of that.
Did she know why they wanted her? Heck no! But she was stilling going to fight. Did Dakota know she was going to die from a car crash? Nope, but that didn't change a thing. Did Alabama know that they were going to kill her, no question about it? Yep! But did she give up? No, it did cross her mind, but what about mom and dad? What would they do without her?
A creature with long fangs came at her. Screaming Alabama struggled, punched, and kicked. Then one of the creatures smacked her clean across the face. What were they trying to do? Alabama didn't have enough time to answer that question, because she was going into a light as the creatures disappeared.

    Chapter Two
    What?

Alabama's eyes opened to her fathers kind, brown eyes. There was a shrill sound echoing around the bedroom; it was them she realized she was actually screaming. She tried to calm herself down, but she couldn't.
"Alabama, sweetheart, please calm down." her father begged while her mother was at the edge of the bed sobbing.
Alabama was panting, but not screaming.
"My poor baby!" her mother wailed.
"Laura, please calm down." her father begged.
    "Daddy?" asked Alabama.
    "Yes, sugar?"
"Nothing?" Alabama turned over, and tried to sleep once again.
    "Sugar,"
    "Yeah?" Alabama didn't turn around.
"Sleep tight." the door closed softly behind her leaving mother and father.

    *************************

When Alabama sat up the next morning everything was gray. It must still be night, she thought.
Alabama walked down the stairs, and tried to reach the kitchen, but ended up on the floor.
    "Shoot!" Alabama yelped.
    "Alabama?" asked her mother.
"I'm okay!" she called back. "Just a little dizzy."
Alabama stood up, and tried once again to see, but ended up meeting a corner. Hot, sticky stuff dripped down her face. Alabama was so dizzy she didn't realize she was on the floor.
    "Alabama!" yelled her dad.
"I'm fine!" she said through her teeth.
"No you are not!" her mom said.
"Yes i am." Alabama stood up, and ended up with blood in her mouth. While coughing it up her parents were whispering about her.
    "You're going to the doctor's."
    "Why?"
"We're getting you eyes checked, and your head sewn up."
    "You make it sound bad."
"Because it is!" her mother inputted with a scream.
"Fine, i'll get my coat." Alabama walked to the stairs, or at least, to a wall. "Ow!!!" Alabama howled.
"I'll get it for you." she heard thumps as her father ran up.
Alabama stood there as her dad picked her up, and put her in the car. They didn't even trust her to buckle her seat belt!!

    Chapter Three
    The Doctor

They were waiting in the doctor's office. Alabama with a bandage on her head; her mother wringing her tissue; and her father nervously pacing.
Finally the door opened, and the doctor sat down. "Well, the test came back . . . . . . positive."
Her mother instantly started to wail once again. Her father stopped pacing to calm her mom down, but Alabama froze. How could that happen. Blind? This guy was off his rocker, lost his marbles, crazy, mad! Anything, but the truth.
"How can that be possible?" asked her father.
"I don't know." the doctor replied.
    "Alabama?" asked her dad.
"Hmm?" she said in a quiet voice.
    "Are you okay?"
"What do you think?" she snapped.
"Don't you use that tone with me!" her father replied.
    "I have a reason to!"
    "And what's that?"
"I'm blind! I was dancing last night, now i can't even see the door! I can't see you, mom, the doctor, the door, the window--"
"How do you know there's window in here."
"I can see faint outlines. I know dad's by the wall with mom, and you're by a desk with a sink."
"Well, i think that's because you can see light bouncing off objects." the doctor said. Then Alabama could see a door. "Can you point out the door for me?" Alabama pointed at it. "Good. Yep i think that's it." the door vanished.
Alabama stood up, seeing the door in her mind, and opened the door. "Thanks, but now we know and we're leaving." Alabama turned, and hit a wall. "That's getting really annoying."
Her parents followed her down the hall making sure she didn't hit a thing, they went to the car, and drove home.
How can i be blind? Alabama thought.
