• He took a sharp turn and was practically sprinting.
“Jack could you slow down its not exactly easy keeping up?” I yelled from behind.
I heard him stop and tap his foot impatiently. I still didn’t move from the spot which was on a dirt road next to a dirty knotted tree. I leaned on the tree and waited for his response so I could move on.
“Jack I’m not moving till you tell me where we are going and why.” I leaned off the tree and stomped my foot on why. I had, had enough games, I felt a rush of wind and my hair blew to the left again. He still had no reply.
“Jack for goodness sakes here is your stupid wolf and I hope you have a nice life!” I threw the wolf bracelet at his feet and held one hand fast to the tree keeping my foot solid on the trunk and slowly the tree unknotted itself and brought me up ward until I could climb away from tree to tree. I saw his confused yet awed expression and I laughed throwing my head back my hold getting looser. I didn’t mind though for Jack’s face was joy enough for me to leave. The tree finally stopped gaining height at around forty-five feet.
I jumped on to the other trees tops and found a nice soft bed of leaves. I lay down and nestled my feet into the canopy which instantly grew warmer. I tucked some loose hair behind my ear softly and then took a deep breath. I was soon warm, comfy, and fast asleep.
As I woke up I saw a small band of men below the tree. I grew nervous and confused on how I was going to fight off all the blithering idiots I had no clue. They didn’t bother keeping quiet now that I’d woken up they stared at me hungrily and with no sympathy.
They didn’t know it but I had the upper hand, I smirked and spit down to them it landed on one of the bozo’s head and I climbed down just a few branches beneath the canopy. All of a sudden in the middle smirk my stomach wrenched as if someone had jammed an axe right through me. I clenched my stomach and gasped. I doubled over sinking lower into the tree the pain grew stronger and stronger as if someone were hurting a friend of mine. Then suddenly it stopped and I was able to catch myself just out of reach of the nasty men.
I looked at one of the men he wore an awful looking headband and was missing his front two teeth, he wore and ugly looking red and white t-shirt on it had been stained with all kind of debris and blood. I gagged at the sight. I climbed up a few branches higher. Then a kind voice called out and said,
“Come on down miss we isn’t here to do ya’ any harm we want you to help us so we can help you.” It was a feminine voice seeming very kind. My curiosity took the better of me and I came down farther to see if the nice voice belonged to a nice looking lady. But not a lady was to be in sight nor was there any living creature besides the foul smelling men. I was still meandering my way through the branches searching for a lady. I was dangerously close to the ground. The gross man I had seen grabbed my arm with an iron grip he grinned mouth shut. I heard the female voice again and I looked down towards my feet. I saw a small butterfly that was black and dark purple it flew to my shoulder and seemed to whisper in my ear.
“Come darling we have to trust each other here so you trust we trust come, come be with us.” The butterfly had said the T word three times in one sentence the word seemed so embracing from this small creature.
“There is one small thing you must do for me although,” the small winged creature told me “you must steal the running wolf from Jack.” I cocked my head to the side wondering if I had misunderstood. “Yes dear you heard correctly, now off you go.”
I walked away as the creature flew off my shoulder. I walked up to the cottage and I rang the doorbell. Jack came to the door opening it with his head down. He looked up and saw me he glared at my appearance.
    “Go away.” He greeted
“I’m sorry for what I did but you were being mean.” I felt as if my hair had turned brown for some odd reason.
“What happened to you?” he asked with astonishment
“What do you mean?” I asked him
“Your hair it just changed.” He tugged lightly on a piece of my hair. I looked at it and it changed back to white. I jumped in fright and walked backwards down the steps and stumbled on the last stair. I screamed and fell on the dirt path. Jack ran down the steps comforting my head as it was badly bruised.
My vision went blurred and soon I saw nothing but darkness, but before my vision left me I saw Jack's worried face making me giggle one small bit.
