• tab 'Too much' thought Seth. As he lay there in the blistering heat, Seth thought of the next few days. He would practice fighting, riding, taming...Taming! He had almost forgotten that his final exam was coming up. Seth knew that he would have to tame something, but he didn't know what.
tab He was hoping for something easy. Something like a Mini-Devil, or a Baby Dragon, or even a Lesser Demon. Seth thought that he could tame a more powerful creature, like a Phantom Swordsman, but he didn't want to risk failing the final exam. If he passed the exam, he would become a true Rider. If he became a rider, he could tame any creature he could find. Of course, he would need a show of power to tame the monsters. But if he tamed a powerful enough monster, he could prove that he was stronger than his fellow apprentice and rival, Draco.
tab Seth knew that even though Draco pretended not to be rich, he was wealthy. He was, in fact, the king's son. Seth also knew that Draco thought he was superior to everyone else because he was rich.
tab But this didn't matter to Seth. He lived in a nice 5-room house he shared with his friend Matthew. They got the house because Matthew was an expert assassin, and was highly paid. Seth was also paid a fair amount of money for the assassinations, because he could tame creatures that were able to poison the victims and weaken them.
tab "Seth!" The shout broke his chain of thought. "Seth!" The voice was closer this time. Seth groaned. He knew that voice. It was his teacher, Solrac. They got along well most of the time, but had quite a few disagreements.
tab "Seth! There you are! We have one lesson left for today...free-fighting!" Seth sighed and stood up. He followed his teacher back to the stadium, and the first thing he saw was Draco, in black dragonscale armor. Seth could tell from this that Draco would be using a sword of some kind. Seth went to equip Berserker armor and decided to use his Darkmoon Flail, a light but durable weapon.
tab When Seth entered the arena, he was that Draco would be using a Brightsun Scimitar. 'Good', Seth thought. 'My Darkmoon Flail should be able to absorb the energy from Draco's weapon and throw it back at him full force!'
