• Part one: Hatred

Rosana the Land of dreams, prosperity, and of course land of nobility, had always been a gracious land. People always got along and blessed one another with good will. Rosana was a mere providence in the larger scale world of Yunuk, a land far in the unreachable cosmos. The people in this world had a very special gift, this gift was the gift of magic. People in these lands used their magic for pure and kind reasons, never did they tempt to darkness. That was until one day, on the eve of the wishing star, where people would gaze up at the starry hill, a blessing was bestowed upon a maiden. She took this power, the power of all Cosmo’s blessed to her by the great ones, and sought to better the world. People became jealous of her many gifts. Soon people tried to destroy her so they could have this power to themselves, a power that had the magnitude to kill and destroy everything and on the other side, Purify and bring kindness to all hearts. People cursed the maiden and claimed she used the power all to herself. One day a commoner broke into the maiden’s home in the forest, he out of jealousy pierced a sword through the maiden. Before she collapsed, the maiden released the gift into the skies. The maiden perished along with the gift of the cosmos.
Thousands of years later on the planet of Yunuk, the lands were ruled by a kind family, Who ruled with justice and love, the family on one eve were blessed with the gift of cosmos as it fell to the ground, the king put the Gift inside an orb and put it in the castle cornerstone. There the gift resided to this day.

    Part two: Starry Hill

Prince Haze walked about in his room looking at his various posters on his walls they were all glowing stars. The prince was bored out of his mind. “This is boring, when is something going to happen!” he thought to himself. He walked up to the open balcony of his room and gazed down upon the castle town in the distance. There he saw people his age running about and laughing. “I wish I had a friend like that.” He thought to himself. The prince was already fifteen, this meant he was of the age to take over if something should happen to his father King Fieos. Although he was a prince, he felt more like a prisoner. He couldn’t leave without being tailed by one of the castle guards. He couldn’t even talk to anyone who wasn’t a complete bore. The prince walked over to his open bathroom door and looked at himself in the mirror. He had green eyes, black hair tied back in a braid, and a strange marking on his hand. This marking shaped like a crystal with an orb in it, was embedded on all his family dating back to the day his family received the gift thousands of years ago. The prince could care less of the gift, or anything about his life as royalty for that matter. The prince’s room door burst open as a girl with long blonde hair in a braid ran in.
“Brother!” she shouted with a huge grin.
“Ceari!” he mumbled looking at her. “Couldn’t you at least knock?” he said with an annoyed expression.
“Knock? Who do you think you are?” she said laughing. Ceari was the prince’s younger sister, who often times forgot she was thirteen while her brother was fifteen. Ceari ran over to the princes open balcony and waved her hand. With this the door shut.
“You should really, do something with yourself Hazel..” She said sighing.
“I told you to stop calling me that! It’s Haze!” he snapped back.
“Yeah what ever, why don’t you practice your magic at least.”
“Unlike you, I’ve got better things to do than use magic to shut doors or windows.” He said rolling his eyes. “And here’s one of them.” He said moving his finger in a circle as Ceari fell though the floor in a black hole.
“AHHHH! BROTHER! WAIT TILL I TELL MOM!” she shouted as she vanished.
Haze brushed his arms as he opened the balcony and looked out.
“Hmm, Maybe a little detour wont hurt.” He though as he ran backwards then leapt right off the balcony landing on a soft mound of soil. He looked to the corner then after making sure there were no guards slipped out of the castle gates. After he ran out, he rushed into the city looking around in awe at all the hustle and bustle of the city, the prince touched his shoulders and his outfit changed to a more city like outfit. Caste city was unlike any city he’s ever seen, there were people intertwined with animals at stands. The prince stopped at one stand with a wolf who had a gray pelt and red eyes, stared at him.
“Nice wolfie!” he said putting his hand out to pet it.
“Touch my fur, and your hands will be by your feet.” The wolf growled.
    “You can talk!” he shouted.
“Of course I can talk, not from around here are you?” the wolf said it’s red eyes sparkling.
“Well no not really.” He said looking at the wolf still in awe. “Umm, what kind of wolf are you?”
“What does it matter, Are you going to buy something or waste my time human?” It growled.
“Well umm, what are you selling?”
    “Essences.”
    “Essences?”
“ Human, you really are a wonder. Essences, contain things like water, wind, fire, and thunder in them.” The wolf said waving its tail. “Here take this one on the house.” It said using its paw to slide over a red earring.
“Wow it’s shiny. Thanks err?” he said picking up the jewel.
“Call me Crimson if you like.” The wolf said rolling its eyes.
“Thank you crimson.” The prince said putting the earring on one of his ears. The prince waved to the wolf who merely rolled its eyes as he walked off towards a fountain in the middle of the square. There were all kinds of animals and humans talking to one another. “There are some big things outside these walls after all.” He said chuckling.
“There he is! Over there!” shouted a man in a silver clad robe with armor. The prince was unlucky today it seemed, the guards were on his trail. The price looked at the guards with an annoyed expression as he put his hands on the ground.
“Sorry boys I’m not going home just yet.” He said as the ground shook and stone pillars blocked the path. The price leapt into the air and ran away as the guards knocked at the pillars. The prince grinned as he leapt of a roof and landed on the ground. There a boy with orange brown hair with a headband on and gloves was swinging two swords around. The prince landed on the ground, with this the boy smashed a few pots.
“Huh? Who are you.” The boy said hurling the swords in the air and crossing his arms. As he did this the swords landed on the ground.
“Um, Haze.” The prince said looking at the boys blue eyes.
“Hmm, so haze, any good at sparing?”
    “Sparing?”
“Can you wield a blade?” the Boy said rolling his eyes.
    “Yeah I think so.”
“Here, catch.” The boy said hurling another blade at the prince. The prince snatched it in the air and got in a protective stance.
“Nice, but now’s the real test.” The boy said grinning as he dashed at the prince swinging both his blades. The prince leapt into the air and sliced the boy knocking him off his feet.
“No way!” the boy said snarling as he leapt and made another attempt. The prince dodged the blade with his own and reversed it back at his adversary.
“Damn! You liar!” the boy said leaping and making a double slice attempt as the prince leapt behind him and knocked him into a wall.
“Aright man I give, I give.” The boy said setting down his swords and panting.
“That was some fighting, you did back there.”
“Really? I just practice with a sword in my spare time is all.” The prince replied.
“Coulda fooled me.” The boy returned. “By the way the names, Ael.” He said holding out his hand. The prince shook it.
“I’ve never seen someone parry my attacks with ease, your something else.” The boy said smiling as he pulled a ring off his finger. “Here, I only give this to people who can beat me.” The prince took the ring and looked at it.
“It’s a symbol of friendship. From, this day we’re best friends.” He said grinning as the prince slipped the ring on.
“Wow, thanks.” The prince said smiling.
“Don’t be a stranger man, come back and spar me again sometime.” Ael said waving as he walked into a doorway and closed it. The prince had made his first friend, he’d never left the castle and met anyone that wasn’t a snob or treated him differently because of his family’s status. “Ael..” he said smiling as he walked out of the alley. The prince’s luck was clearly on a thin strand as the Armour clad guards were on the other side of the wall.
“Where is he! What a little rat.” The guards said walking around. The prince snapped whirled his hands and a small gust of wind started and soon a huge funnel shaped wind was behind him.
“Over there!” they shouted. The prince ran off as quick as he could, when the coast was clear he stopped and panted. “Its getting late, Mom or dad will probably go to check on me.” He said to himself touching his shoulders and putting his royal garbs back on. He rushed to the left and saw Crimsons familiar stand near the castle gates.
“Crimson!” he shouted waving to the gray wolf. The wolf merely grunted and turned its head away.
“Seeya!” he shouted as he ran in the gates. He rushed into the palace and took a sharp turn running up the tower stairs and creeping in through his room door. He quickly shut his room door and took a huge breath.
“Welcome back Hazel.” Called a voice standing in the corner. The figure was none other than his Father standing with his arms crossed.
“Father.. Hello!” he said smiling and forcing a laugh.
“Hazel, where were you for the last three hours?” the king said his face looking stern.
    ‘W-well, I was er-“
“Sneaking off and exploring the town?”
    “Well not exactly it was..”
“Hazel, why didn’t you at least tell someone you were leaving?” the king said .
“Father, it’s hard enough trying to fit in, but carrying guards with me doesn’t make for the best image.” The prince said looking around. “No one ever likes me for me, they only look at my family and see I’m royalty. That’s not true friendship. Today I actually made a real friend, and he didn’t know I was a prince. In fact I actually got my hands dirty.”
“Hazel, I understand you’re at that age, but wondering off alone no less..”
“Well I wasn’t alone the guards were still trailing me.”
“The point is, You should be getting ready for becoming the next king, not going about causing mischief about the castle. When it’s my time to hand over the crown, it’s your job to look after not only the kingdom but the cornerstone as well.”
“Maybe I don’t want to do any of that.” The prince said crossing his arms.
“The choice is not yours to make. It’s high time you started taking responsibility for your actions. As punishment for disregarding the rules, I want you to stay in your room for the rest of the night.” The king said opening the door and closing it. “He never understands.. It’s like he was never a child.” The prince said mumbling. His doors opened yet again as a woman with light blue robes walked in.
    “Hello mother.”
“Hazel, causing trouble again?” she said in a soft voice.
“I just, want something new out of life.” The prince said sitting on his bed.
“I know you don’t want to hear this but, you do have to start taking more responsibility. After all it’s your rite as King to watch over the Kingdom and gift.”
    “Why can’t Ceari do it?”
“She doesn’t want to do it either.” Laughed the queen.
“You are both growing so fast, your all I’ve got you know.” She smiled hugging him tightly.
“My chest mother! You’re squeezing too hard!”
“Nonsense, A hug is never to hard, it means I’m giving you extra love.” She laughed. “Take care my darling, I’ll send Zyra up to bring your food.” She said smiling and closing the door behind her. The prince sat on his bed looking out the window until his door opened. A woman with bags under her eyes and gray-white hair walked in with a tray.
“Your meal your “Majesty”” she said in a snide voice. Zyra was the family’s keeper; she looked after all the affairs and served on the family tree of the castle for many years. She secretly wished her family were rulers instead of the princes. This she made evident in everything she did or muttered to herself.
“Just leave it over there please.” The prince said pointing to a small table.
“Growing boys should collect their meals themselves. Nobility doesn’t function on laziness.” She snapped. The prince walked over and took the tray.
“Good day your “majesty.”” She snapped walking out and mumbling a few words could be deciphered. “Lazy louse” and “Terrible times” were clearest out of her mumblings. The prince rolled his eyes at this and ate his meal in silence.
Later that night the prince rolled about in bed. “I can’t sleep..” he thought to himself. After a few more times of trying he got up and looked out the balcony. The sky was black. He snapped his finger and his clothes changed to more town looking garbs. He opened his door slowly and creped out shutting his door behind him. “Oh!” he thought to himself. With this he snapped his finger and a ghostly form of himself went through his door and became solid on his bed.
He walked further down the hall looking to the right and left to see sleeping guards who all snored and made odd sounds. He walked forward and saw a door opened halfway. Zyra was sitting by candle light writing papers and muttering to himself. The prince looked in the room.
“Up at this hour? How very unbecoming of royalty. Looking in someone’s room without being invited. How very rude you are.” With this she waved her finger and the door slammed shut. The prince walked on after this and crept out through the servant’s quarters. He rushed out the back gates and into castle town. He saw Crimsons familiar stand. There she lay curled up her eyes shut. The prince smiled at this and walked onward. He saw the hilltop further on and walked towards it. After a few minutes he reached the hill. Starry hill was always the top look out point of these lands. People would often gaze into the sunset, or at the stars at night. The prince walked up the hills slope and sat down looking up at all the twinkling stars. “Wow. They’re so beautiful.” He said looking up.
“Aren’t they?” A voice said next to him. There next to him sat a girl with blonde white hair and sparkling green eyes. She wore a star pendant.
“ I always come here.. When I want to think… and when I can’t sleep.” She said.
“I can see why, this view is beautiful.”
“Luna.” She said looking at him.
“Oh.. Haze.” He said blushing for a second.
“I find that.. I’ve been coming back more often than usual.” She said her hair glowing from the starlight. “The stars were always my favorite as a child.”
“Mine too.” The prince said smiling.
“Oh no! I’d better get going it will be morning soon.” He said getting up.
“Oh, Well maybe we’ll meet again in town.” She said smiling.
“I hope so.” The prince blushed as he walked off. Luna’s face was in his mind his whole trip back to the palace. He crept up the steps and rushed in his room. The decoy vanished as he fell asleep. The prince was awoken by his sheets being lifted off him by themselves.
