• Prologue

I heard the most beautiful chanting as the rope began to break. The chilling voices filled my skull as it grew louder and louder until the rope snapped and silence filled the air. I cried to this song as I had many times before this night, and hoped for a better future. For some reason I felt drawn here as if it was my place to be. To save this land I visited so often, I felt it wouldn’t be so without the missing thing. Maybe that’s why I’m drawn here, to save a world. No I thought, that’s just in stories. Something deep within made a remark about how my life feels. Like a story, who knows it one day just might be.

My eyes opened as a new clarity filled the air denser than before. Everything seemed alive and sharp. I never felt this way, especially not in dreams. This was the best it’s ever been. The creature I was in seemed to act out as I wanted. Best of all nothing was missing. I watched and waited for the dream to take its course. I began to notice something I hadn’t before odd, fear reeked the air and the creature seemed nervous. For once in this dream I began to think it might be something more and who this creature was.

I awoke in a cold sweat, my breath coming out in tight sharp gasps. My mind raced through the dream looking for gaps. There were none. I shivered as it stunned me how clear my dream was. It was unnatural. I sat in the moonlight looking for answers. I found none, instead all I found was more questions begging me for answers. I threw my head against the pillow hoping to find some back in the place I came.
