• "What were you thinking?!" Nallaen Wolfwood slammed his fists down on a nearby table, as he shook his head. The body of this young warlock trembled with frustration as the details became clear as day to him. "Why the Hell would you make a deal with him?! Of all the beings in the world, you had to chose the biggest jerk of them all?!"

"Don't insult the Timeless One like that!" Jovis yelled back.

"Why?!" Nallaen threw his arms up in the air. "He knew I was going to say he's a jerk, he always knows everything!" Nallaen turned to face a different direction. "HEY NOZDORMU! DID YOU KNOW YOU WERE AN JERK?! CAUSE YOU ARE!"

Jovis rubbed the temple of her forehead as she drowned out his yells, something she did quite often. After a few minutes, Nallaen grew quiet, probably out of breath or out of things to complain about. "You done?"

"Yeah... I think so." Nallaen replied in his usual vexed tone. He raised his right hand to his face to overlook it, grimacing. He must have hit it a bit too hard on the table, which was also an ordinary thing. "So let's go back a bit... tell me when this all started to form in your head..."

The priest would fold her arms across her chest and narrow her brows at him. "Remember the first time we met..?" Jovis frowned even more. "And the trouble you caused me?"

"Hey..." Nallaen rubbed the back of his neck nervously, flashing a smile. "Wasn't all the trouble I caused the reason you fell in love with me?"

"No." Jovis bluntly said, scoffing. "That incident... I can never quite explain it, but we ended up in the past. At the time, I had no clue on your true identity..."

"Neither did I!" Nallaen butt in. "If I knew what I was back then, you think I woulda been so stupid?!"

"Yes." Jovis would say in her blunt tone again. Nallaen grimaced at the mental stab, folding his own arms now to mimic her. "Your punishment for trying to alter the events of Stratholme was you lost everything you had gained - your riches, your material items, and most of all, your power."

Nallaen shifted uncomfortably, the topic was unsettling to him. "Why are you telling me things I already know?"

"Because it is to remind you of why I made the deal..."

"Well, why don't you just tell me that part and stop beating around the bush?!"

"If you would stop interrupting me..!" Jovis twitched.

Nallaen backed away and gave the sheepish smile once more. Jovis was frightening when 'her time' was interrupted. "Please ... do continue..."

Jovis stared at the wooden floor, her intimidating look melting into a sad smile. "I have always blamed myself for that. I knew what I was and I suspected that it was abnormal for us to be there, yet I didn't keep a close eye on you. I should have watched over the two would-be-mortals with a close eye and failed to do so. Because of such, you lost everything."

The warlock would open his mouth to argue it but Jovis raised a hand to silence him. "I don't want to hear it. I was at fault and you suffered for it. Even to this day, without your knowledge, you still suffer from that day."

"What do you mean..?" Nallaen looked himself over. "There's nothing wrong with me."

"You are unable to progress at your normal potential." Jovis sighed. "You have a powerful enchant over your body that prevents you from gaining much power. You will have remained stunted for all eternity had I not noticed it."

"I can be stronger..?" Nallaen murmured to himself, impressed by this news. "Wait a second, that a*****e wouldn't remove such a curse without something great in return!"

Her silence was all Nallaen needed to know something was wrong. "What is this deal?!"

"I am going to go through the same punishment as you." Jovis gave a smile. "I am also now an agent of the Brood of Nozdormu. If they need me to drop everything I am currently doing, I will do so and head out on the missions they give me."

Nallaen looked her over. "Wait... you're still in your battle robes... and you have powers that surpass everyone I know." His tone held suspicion now. "I thought you were giving it all up."

"It is decided when the Timeless One desires me to." Jovis smiled.

"Wait, wait, wait, so you don't even know when he's going to do it?! What if he does it when you're out battling some orcs or when you're purifying the scourge or when we're making love--"

"Nallaen please!" Jovis got huffy and placed her hands on her hips. "Why would he do it when it can potentially kill me when I offered him so much more with my services and loyalty?"

"Cause he's a jerk?!" Nallaen would turn back like before and start screaming obsencities in Draconic to the air, damning the aspect of the Bronze Dragonflight once more. Jovis would just give another sigh and rub her forehead again.

This was going to be more of a headache than she originally planned.
