Chapter Seven: The Disappearance is Noted

"Hey I'd better go check on Kiri, I'll be back in a moment." Serna told her mother and older as she slipped out of the room and left the house through the kitchen door.
As she made her way outside, A strong breeze picked up and whipped her hair in front of her face, making impossible for her to see her younger sister's plight.
As the wind settled down, she managed to pull her hair from her face at walk forward towards the sacred tree and the storage buildings.
Walking slowly enjoying the scenery, she made her way to the first storage building. Suddenly a thought hit her. "Why is it so quiet?"
And with that question, she sprung forward, running to the buildings a throwing the doors open. Her breath hitched as she looked around. The room was empty.
"She can't have been out here more then a couple minutes, so she couldn't have gotten far." Serna told herself, finding little comfort in the thought.
Quickly she let her sacred energy out and caused it form into the shape of thirteen midnight blue ravens. She dispatched them each with the same command; find Kiri.
Feeling drained she left the building and closed the doors behind her before stumbling towards the house.
Upon reaching the door, she kicked it open and yelled "Kiri has disappeared!"
With that she collapsed on the ground.
Xiane and her mother appeared into the hallway and her mother gently helped the girl to her feet. turning around to look at the boy behind her, she realized that he no longer stood there.

Running fast, the kitsune jumped on to a wall that was a good 7 feet in the air. He quickly searched around with his eyes, before breathing in deeply. He needed to find her fast. The police in Kyoto hated half-demons, and not many people would be willing to go search for her. The ravens were fairly good for scouting, but they were rather slow compared to some demons, and if she had been taken by one, the ravens might not find her until she was nothing more than a carcass. That thought alone chilled him and caused him to jump of the wall.
He had seen to much bloodshed already, from when he was younger. He was in a far off place then where most days were survival of the fittest. He had watched his parents and clan go down one at a time by the claws of bear youkai in a war. He made it out alive had somehow found himself at the shrine. Since then he had refused to fight any one, unless it was in a battle of words. Now though, he would kill anyone in his path if it brought him a step closer to his sister.
"Darn it Kiri! I let you out of my site for a minute and you're already in trouble!"
