Hello again everyone to another gunpla review! I finally finished my RG Char's Zgok, and I am very very happy with how this guy turned out and with Real Grades in general. -Thumbs up- This was such a fun experience for me, because I was always put off on RGs for years. I know I know, I was on the bandwagon about how MGs are the superior grade and that RGs are crappy. Well, I couldn't have been further from the truth. XD This kit is from the orginal Mobile Suit Gundam, and was Char Aznable's second suit that he piloted. He used it for battle on Jaburo, and by the looks of it, you can tell that its a amphibious suit. That's because there is a lot of water and swamps on the planet, so as a result, he thought it would be a better idea to have a suit that could swim freely underwater and be able to do combat against Amuro if the situation arised. So without further ado, lets dive in and see what we are dealing with. smile (No pun intended.)
For starters, these RGs have internal frames. Yes, a 1/144 with a inner frame. 0.0 What kind of madman are we dealing with!? wink They come on a separate runner, and you just put it together first, and you can pose it and show it off before you start putting on the armor, which I loved! But the inner frame is what makes them so posable and well balanced! You can pretty much put this guy in any pose that you want to, that you can see him doing of course. smile I love his big feet and his giant claws that he uses for his main weapons. He doesn't come with weapons, which is fine, because he himself is basically one big weapon, especially with those claws, ouch! >_< The bottom of the feet have little propellers that he uses to move around in the water, so hes 3 times faster than the normal Zgok. His mono eye, you can take off the top part of the head and move around, which is nice, so you can see him looking menacing from both angles. wink And I honestly loved this design. I was indifferent at first, but I really came around as I was building him. smile They give you decals, which made him look even more great, and I loved that there wasn't as many as their could be. It was just enough to spiff him up. He doesn't need to be panel lined, but I chose to to give him more personality. smile
This is such an easy Rg, and is one of the easiest ones, next to the original RX-78 and Char's Zaku. If your ever interested in building a RG, I would highly highly recommend you give him a try or the other 2, if you're unsure about whether or not it's too hard or you won't like it. Rgs are great because if you don't have a lot of space, but you want a posable and nice looking kit, then they are for you. I had so much fun building him and I didn't once get frustrated because of how easy it is. Below are the pictures I took of him with just an inner frame, and others of when he was done. Enjoy!
