Hello and welcome to another awesome gunpla review! Today I'm going to be reviewing the HGAC Gundam Leo, from the widely popular Mobile Suit Gundam Wing! This kit has been very very highly anticipated for me as well as many others for years. Up until now, there hasn't ever been a model kit of the famous grunt suit, minus the B-club Leo, which is a resin kit that costs quite a bit. 0.0 Resin kits are models that are limited and recasted, so you do have to paint them yourself, and they don't have much articulation, so you won't be doing many air poses or anything, but that's okay because if you're buying a resin kit, they only really meant for display. Anyways, this model has been on everyone's wishlist for years and years, and I honestly was shocked when I found out they were making this. 0.0 Now if bandai can get around to the other OZ suits, I could die happy. XD Without any further ado, let's dive in and see how this guy holds up. smile
For starters, this isn't an expensive kit. I was shocked when I saw the price after it was released. At only 800 yen, or around 8 dollars U.S I wasn't expecting something that was anticipated as much as the leo to be as cheap. And you're getting your money's worth with this guy, trust me. wink For articulation, he is amazing! I have no problems with moving his joints and posing him however I want to, and that mono eye makes him look even cooler! The only thing that doesn't really move is the head, because of the shape of it and how his head was built, with basically no neck. XD But other than that, It's a great kit for posing! He only comes with his gun, which I really love the way this looks. I love the whole canister on the gun, and how dystopian it looks, it reminds me of something out of Fallout or Bioshock. wink He comes with his basic shield, which if you've built the tallgeese, its the same type of shield, it just doesn't come with with any decals. And lastly, he comes with two beam handles and two small red beam sabers. I can't complain, because they do give you a lot of accessories for the money, and I had a lot of fun posing him with them. He only comes with the holding pose hands, which isn't bad, I don't mind it on cheaper kits, because if I'm only paying 8 dollars for a kit, I'm not expecting all of this extra fluff. wink All and all, this kit is perfect for someone who is just starting out, it's not a difficult build at all, and it's very easy to assemble. Everything just kinda fits into place, and they don't bombard you with too many pieces. he only comes with 4 runners, and the beam saber runner, so it's a very easy kit for beginners. -Thumbs up-
I was so excited when they announced this kit that I preordered it, which is something I've never done before. To sum it up, this was a very very easy kit and something that if you're new to gunpla, or a fan of the gundam wing series, than this is a MUST! It's simple, easy, and looks great for a grunt suit. wink Below are the pictures that I took of him, enjoy!
