Hello and welcome again to another gunpla review! Today I'm going to be reviewing the HGUC Gundam Ground Type S, from the ONA series, Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt is a alternative take on the the events that happened during the One Year War, and shows the losses and struggles on both the Zeon side and the Earth Federation Forces. The series was incredible in terms of story and artwork, and is definitely worth watching if your a fan of the Universal Century or if your a fan of the older Gundam series. smile This kit doesn't feel like a gundam, more like a grunt suit such as the Zaku or GM. It only appeared briefly, but the design of him was what made him and others from the series stand out! -Thumbs up- I love the shield and the rifle being able to be connected to the backpack and the LARGE amount of weapons that he comes with. smile So without any further ado, lets jump right in and see what we've got! wink
As far as articulation goes, this guy has got you covered! As you would expect from the newer line of High Grades, he definitely doesn't disappoint. smile He comes with a lot of extra parts, which I haven't figured out what they are for, but I'm guessing if you wanted to make your own ground type MS and in different colors, which is cool! All you need is a simple panel line on this guy and he looks awesome! If you want to paint him, you can easily, and he'll still turn out great looking. As I said before he comes with A LOT of weapons and accessories. He comes with two shields, a rifle, two clear pink beams, beam handles, and a beam lance, which I thought was cool looking! The lance comes with an effect part, that is great, and adds a great effect to it. The only real downside were the hands, which are just 3 pieces, and the actual hands are two, which is something you'd see from model kits from 10-15 years ago, but that's okay, because you can buy extra hands for him, to spiff him up! wink And speaking of spiffing up, this kit also comes with decals, that you can add to really make him stand out and look awesome! -Thumbs up-
All and all, this was a great kit to build, he was a lot of fun and wasn't too hard at all. smile Like I said above, if your a fan of the older series, or something different even, I would recommend you pick this guy up. Below are the pictures that i took of him, enjoy! smile
