Hello again everyone! I hope you all had a happy new years and happy holidays! smile I finally now can show you guys all of what I got this Christmas. -Cheers- This year I bought 3 model kits and some extra stuff that I think you are all going to enjoy. smile So lets get into it and see everything that I got.
As you can see below, I got 3 kits this year. The first one is the MG Age 1, which holds a special place in my heart. When I was getting back into Gundam and was toying with the idea of building Gunpla, Gundam Wing wasn't the only show that I was watching. I also was watching Gundam Age, which is a very good series if you haven't seen it yet. smile A lot of people complain that the show wasn't dark enough or that it wasn't as good, but that is something that I have to disagree on! I loved this series and I thought it had a really good story behind it. It follows the life of the main protagonist Flit Asuno and his son and grandson, and it really had a lot of moments in it that made you feel bad for his family, and his life as a whole. He was such an interesting main character, so much so that I wanted a MG of his MS, but I was wanting to build my collection a little bit before I tackled him, and it's a good thing I did. wink One of the best things about this kit is the articulation and the attention to detail! He looks great in any pose and can do any pose that you want to. -thumbs up-
The next model kit that I got was the HGUC Gundam Ground Type S Rx79. (Whoooh that was a mouthfull.) This is from the series Gundam Thunderbolt, which is a series that takes place in the UC era, and it really goes in depth on both sides, the Federation Forces and the Zeon. It was really good and only had 2 4 episode seasons, and 2 ovas that were both seasons combined. I would suggest you definitly go and watch it in full, it was really fantastic! The artwork in the series, the music, and the fact that they really showed you that both sides were to blame in the OYW (One Year War). This looks a little different than most Gundams, because it's a Gundam, but it's a mass produced Gundam that they used in the show. I love the 2 shields on his sides that you can put there as well as his beam javelin!
Last but cetainly not least, I finally broke down after 3 years and bought the HGUC Sazabi!!!! And I can't believe I actually have this guy now! -Cheers- I've been wanting one for a few years now, but they can be hard to find, so I always had to hold off on it, but when I saw him, I knew I had my chance to get him. smile And let me say this, the box that he comes in his HUGE! for a HG box. It's bigger than the MG Age 1. 0.0 I can't wait to get started on building him. I'm planning on working on the AGE 1 first, and then the Ground Type, and then finally the big red machine. wink -cues fire pyros-
The other stuff that I got was 2 action bases. The first one is a MG action base that I got for my Deathscythe, since I got Tallgeese and Wing, I thought I might as well display him next to them. And I got a HG Action base for my Ground Type S. I was going to use it for Sazabi, but trust me, it may show that he can be put on a HG action base, but I think he would fall over from all of the weight. 0.0 Sazabi might need to lose a few pounds before he can. wink
And I finally got a paint set! -Cheers- I've been wanting to start painting for a while now, since I think I'm ready to move on other than panel line, which is still great, but I've been wanting to also start learning how to paint my kits. And I got a bottle of Top Coat paint, that works really well from what I read. There are different ways to apply topcoat, and if you want to know more, just google about top coats, and you'll find a lot more about it.
Below is a picture of everything I got, and my WIP (Work in Progress) of Age 1, so expect an upload of him in the next few weeks. Thank you guys once again for viewing my journal, and I do apologize for the late upload. Enjoy! smile
