Hello and welcome to another gundam review! The last kit that I reviewed happened to be my last MG for now. So now, the next set of model kits that I'm going to be reviewing are all of my HGs, and there are a lot of them! -wipes sweat off of face- For my first HG, I'm going to be reviewing the 1/100 HG Airmaster Burst from the series After War Gundam X. This in my opinion was one of the best series, next to G Gundam and Gundam Wing. It's as if Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing got his own series!
This model came out in the late 90's, so it has that Gundam wing/G gundam frame, where the pieces are more plastic, but don't usually have a hard time standing on their own, which as you can see, that giant backpack, does not make this kit top heavy at all! He is a 1/100, so hes taller than a 1/144, but hes jointed more like one. As you can see in the pictures, I did a little bit of painting on the shoulders (Which is awful because it was my first time doing it other than my Hg Tallgeese 0.0) There is also some panel lining, which was my first time too, and some decals that I had left over from another kit, I tried to spiff him up as much as I can, and I think that he looks better! -Bows head in fear- Be gentle please?
Other than him being sturdy, his design looks great! I love the transforming ability, and the weapons that he comes with! He was a lot of fun to build, a lot of work, but he was worth it in my opinion! smile He has lots of panel lines, so hes great to start out learning how to if you've never done it before. His hands, they only give you one set of hands, but they never have a problem holding his weapons, even his giant missle gun (Which it looks like it can blow up an entire city block!)
Overall, very sturdy, and a lot of fun. Not too hard, but still a challenge for some things. I would reccomend this and the rest of the Hg 1/100 from this series. I don't see them making a MG version of this guy in the future, but I still think that he looks almost as good as one! Here are the pictures below. The last picture shows what it looked like before I did any panel lining.
