Chapter 1
E.T.
Heat and pain rose within me. The feeling grew as iron spread throughout my body. Connecting and melding every part on me. I let out painful screams. I was scared I couldn’t see; couldn’t feel. The next thing I knew, everything went cold and gone. I was gone
My Name is J.A.N.E.
J.unior
A.gent
N.ano
E.xperiment
I was born into the nano agency from the moment I was created. I can’t remember my childhood maybe because I never had one. There are many like me the Master said, but none as different and strong as I. There was one nano that was my partner in the agency and best friend, G.I.N.
G.un
I.nternational
N.ano
He was different like me, but some what more dark and mischievous. It seemed like he had a lot of dark secrets he dare not tell me. G.I.N. was created some time before me and was well known throughout the agency. Why Master chose me to be with someone so much more experienced than me ,I will never understand.
Nanos have been helping the world ever since year 3002. Now it’s 3095 and new dangerous threats have been awakened and it’s up to the nanos to save the world, by nanos I mean myself and G.I.N. There is only him and I that are allowed to do the vigorous tasks that the agency wants us to. The other nanos just sit around doing computer work for the humans, they’re more like robots in my opinion, but in a way nanos really are robots.
“J.A.N.E. You’re hypnotizing me again.” G.I.N. smirks. He always tells me this since my eyes are deep blue and you can see all the gears and screws that spin when I focus or think. You can see all nano’s inside parts in their eyes, G.I.N. just liked to tease when I thought since I do it a lot.
I playfully glared at him. “Oh shut up G.I.N.” I laugh. I was always constantly thinking about my past. Was I always like this? G.I.N. often wondered himself about his own past, but never found or remembered anything. They say when a nano learns about their past they become human, but it was just a myth in my opinion. Never the less I still searched for answers.
A buzz hit my circuit board in my head. I flinched and pressed the talk button located in my ear.
“J.A.N.E. we need your help. There’s been another infestation of Stayline. We need you and G.I.N. to help out the guards.”
“I’m on it ,Master.” I let go of the button and turned to G.I.N., who was rewiring himself, and smiled at him.
“Another infestation. Can you handle it?” I smirk.
“Hmm.” He cocks his gun arm. “I believe so.” He grins and lets his gun turn back into a normal looking arm.
I and G.I.N. get onto our Hatchers with extra care; it’s the newest in hovering motorcycles. The automatic helmets cover our faces and the tinted helmet screen made it impossible for any human to see our faces. The flame burns blue on the back rocket of the motorcycle. The bottom of the Hatcher turns a sea green and soon we’re hovering. I turn up the gas to make the engine roar and turn my helmet head at G.I.N. He soon does the same and nods the okay at me. I put on the gas and release the break flying at ninety miles per hour with G.I.N. right behind me.
We fly out of the tunnel into the extraterrestrial world with the moon huge and bright. Hovercars were still in the air even though it was about two in the morning. I nod my head at G.I.N. and we ride to the sea dock. Some fishermen have just arrived from long weeks of sea and sleepily dragged their feet to the teleporters so they can sleep in their hotels. The moonlight was bright and blue over the water and made it sparkle as if it was glass. G.I.N. and I dismount our Hatchers. The helmet disconnects and disables, retracting back into the Hatchers. I look at G.I.N. and he already has his guns out. I take my pistols out from the straps on my legs and open my hollow box. The box illuminated a turquoise light then shook furiously. My machine gun flew out along with the ammo belt. I casually caught them and slung the gun over my shoulder and strapped on the belt around my waist. My black trench coat, shorts and top seemed to hide well in the moonlight. My short black hair seemed to glimmer, only because I was a nano. G.I.N.’s silver hair always shined, I always admired that. My hair always seemed bleak and plain compared to his.
The markings on G.I.N. and my face glowed. It was only natural for us nanos. All of us had them, although no one knew what they meant or symbolized they were just there. They glowed whenever day fell. Imagine bright colors under a black light; that was all of us nanos’ markings.
I loaded my pistols and cocked them then nodded at G.I.N and we sneaked around the dock boxes looking for the Stayline. Stayline were bad creations said to be made by two women and a man. That was all the information we had so far. No names, no information, no predictions, not even a thesis or inference. That’s where G.I.N. and I come in. All we knew that it was two female nanos and a male nano and that they held a cult known as Rhymo. Rhymo was the organization that had all the problems with robots and new creations; on purpose we’re all sure. The three leaders kept their identity secret due to the fact of so many mishaps with their inventions. They probably wanted no one to try and murder them, well little did they know G.I.N. and I wanted to do just that.
We heard the clanging of metal scraping against the dock boxes. I tilted my head slightly past a box to see what the Staylines were up to. My eyes focused and zoomed in. They were trying to open a box with no company logo on it.
“G.I.N. They’re opening another box again. The same one with no logo.” I whispered and averted my eyes at him.
G.I.N. focused his eyes on them too. “You’re right. I think its show time.” He smirked at me and his eyes turned red. I smiled back and my eyes turned red as well and nodded.
“Let’s give ‘em hell!” I clicked my guns and did a front flip into the group of Staylines. G.I.N. opened his hollow box. A big turret gun emerged and aimed it at the Staylines. He grunted and grinned.
“This is going to be fun.”
