Don't look... -fails-
???: The sun's rays lit the dark room and touched Flints face. She woke, eyes sore and red. As soon as she realized it was day she held up the locket. "May I have it back?" a creepy ice calm voice asked behind her. "Cole!" she yelled turning around quickly. Immediately she handed back the strangely untouched locket. "Thank you." Cole replied calmly as he put it back around his neck and stared at her. "I also owe you thanks for last night I suppose..." Shrugging, Cole put his hands in his pockets. "Why? I hurt you...I never want to do that again." Flint remembered grimly. His eyes glanced into hers momentarily and he looked away. "Hmm...So you don't remember confronting me last night?" Flint stared bluntly at him, "I did what?" She tried her best not to sound so stupid, but there was nothing to help it. "You came to me...You really don't remember, do you...It's okay, that's what Katie does." Flint now was more curious than completely blunt. She looked at him curiously. "Katie?" she asked. "Katie. She was a housemate of mine that had strange powers that distorted the fabrics of reality. Sadly, she died in her own world in her room with a dying wish to be rid of her powers in her afterlife. I'm guessing you saw her?" "Katie...Katie...What did she look like? What did she act like?" "I can't really tell you how she looked, they kept me away, locked us away...we weren't allowed to talk-but our rooms were right next to each others. I'd always hear her sorrowful cries at night, and sometimes I would cry along with her. She'd sing songs of suicide. I'd listen quietly thinking it'd be heaven compared to what she was enduring. Still, she was a little...off. She'd cry, say a few things whispering. Sometimes in a different language but undecipherable to many. I knew what she was saying, and it was dark. She'd whisper these psychotic things, then laugh and then yell out in pain and start to cry once more." Flint sat silently as she listened she could picture her, and it really did scare her. "She would...talk to herself, about how she longed for a friend, longed for fresh air...then go onward to making comments about everyone in the mansion with malicious contempt." "She really did seem...'off'..." "No, I understood completely; she despised the people who could never give her what she wanted. The only way to achieve her goal was to be rid of her powers so she'd serve no purpose to them-" The doorbell rang and an uncomfortable silence lingered with the tension in the air. "Cole..." Flint said warily. He was already well aware of how she was feeling. Helping her up he soothingly said, "I'll come with you..." Together, they walked down the stares as their guest waited patiently outside. The door opened. Flint could not believe her eyes; frightened, she hid behind Cole. Even the calm man himself stepped backwards astonished by what he was seeing. "Hello, I read your ad, I'd like to join." Katie smiled warmly at both of them. A girl of 6 with long black hair and red slitted eyes. "We had a deal, did we not?" Katie stepped into the mansion. Her aura was thick and ominous as she added, "you wouldn't break a promise, would you?" in a very eerie voice that made Flint's skin crawl and Cole holding onto her gently; his way of saying 'I'll protect you'. Katie stepped forward as Flint foundered on words. Gathering it all back she spoke as Katie walked closer. "O-of course..." Katie stopped, red eyes glinting viciously at them.
