Don't look... -fails-
???: Cole gave her a strange look. "What...?" he asked with hidden concern. Flint glanced up at him then back down, face completely red. "Nothing, so tell me about the necklace..." she replied grabbing a seat. He began his story...
'After I ran away to that mansion, and during those experiments...my new father gave me this necklace. He kept telling me that his time will be ended soon so he must keep me calm. I didn't know what he meant. This necklace, it's a locket in the shape of a dragon's head. I haven't opened it, because he also told me...that this will keep the beast at bay until the sanity seems to stay. It's....really hard for me to stay calm, but if I don't, the locket will open itself up and release my full power. That's not all I carry it for though, I carry it for memory of my mother and new father, in hatred of my father, and...'
Cole hesitated as Flint listened calmly. "Go on..." she urged. He grinned and looked into her eyes. "That's for me to know." Her face went pale. Something about what her dark friend said made her a little fearful. Cole put a hand on her shoulder and lowered down next the her ear. "Think of it however you like, but don't think so lowly...I have to go. I'll advertise." Cole walked away leaving mystery trailing after him. All she could do is look down and think, think about everything that he said. At last she got up and remembered her plans for today. That's right...I was going to start marking the rooms in the mansion...give it the best touch up I can, and then work on it a bit... With that, she walked out grabbing an apple for breakfast.
The mansion stared at her happily. A small presence of dread lingered upon it. Strange...I never felt this before...I don't think it's safe to go inside. But-why do I have this strange urge to go inside? Her feet started shifting until finally she placed one in front of the other. Without realizing, she walked towards the mansion and was already inside. Strange voices whispered in her ears, some not even English and the other ones too scratchy and low to understand. Her head started throbbing, and she couldn't move. What's going on? I haven't felt like this before. I feel like crying, like screaming at the top of my lungs. Like stabbing myself until the floor is drenched with blood! No...this couldn't be me could it? at that instant she heard a girls cry. Looking up, she saw it. Her eyes widened in shock as she stared.
A spirit of a girl stared at her. Her eyes were rimmed red and deepened with insomnia. Flint felt, very different, the usual reaction to seeing such a horrifying figure was to scream and run-but she felt attracted. The spirit walked towards her. "H-Hello miss..." Flint heard herself say. The spirit stopped and tilted her head. An orb of energy appeared in her arms. "Laiceps eb ot hsiw uoy? Eloc ekil tsuj? Bulc rouy snioj taht lla rof rewop egnarts a uoy evig lliw I. Hsiw uoy tahw otni denrut eb llye'ht. nioj ot em wolla llu'oy, nruter ni...Tnilf..." She understood what the spirit said...though the words were backwards and so was the sentences. She stared but couldn't speak for herself. All she did was hear herself say 'yes'. The spirit gave her the orb and put it on a rod. Their spirits felt intertwined and the spirit spoke perfect English. "Take this staff, and you will have powers beyond your wildest dream. I cannot join you yet, but we shall meet again. But, take heed in my admonition; Angels and Demons are engaged in an everlasting war." She giggled and disappeared. What was that supposed to mean? she thought curiously. A surge of power blasted through her body. The overwhelming power was so intense that she fainted.
She woke late at night, scared out of her mind and looked around to see slitted hazel eyes staring back calmly.
