Hello, and welcome to the AfterStuff! Here's another reader-requested entry. This one is from CrystalShyner. Jealousy. This one's a tough one, I'll admit. I've struggled with it a lot, myself. Let's start with looking at life like a video-game. Say, every character starts out with thirty base points. These points can't be re-assigned. Depending on where the characters' points are placed, they can be really good in some ways, but weak in others. Two characters begin to compare themselves to eachother, finding themselves enraged by how much more skill their comparison has in some areas, but not taking the time to look at their own strong points. I assure you, whoever you are, there's something that somebody can find to be envious of. No matter how lacking you may be in looks, or finances, or intellect, there's something that you exceed in. No matter who you are, there is something that you really flat out stink at. I may be good at writing, and thinking, but I can't remember hardly anything. There's an example right there. So, next time you feel jealous, or envious, think about what you're great at. Think about what you've got that they'll never have. Don't tell them about it, just recall it to your memory. If that doesn't work, don't fret. Sometimes Jealousy is actually useful. It can force you to work for something. It'll cost you valuable time, thus balancing the initial base, but you might end up with what they've got. As I said before, you can't reassign the points, you can't trade your natural skills, but you can trade time for more of them. Some people may seem like they're better at everything, but there're two reasons they seem this way. They've spent a lot of time working on things, and they don't let you know their weaknesses. There are some people that seem like they're useless, and they just aren't worth having around. They're this way for at least one of these two reasons: They don't know what they're good at, or they don't let anyone know what they're good at.
Break it down, and everyone's just as good. They're just good in different ways, but they're all just as good. Don't worry yourself about one little category somebody's got you beat in. You've got a strong point elsewhere. One that they'll probably never find, and probably never beat you at. You might not find it either, but that's another story. Maybe even another entry. You've got just as much general aptitude as anyone. Wow. That's an ego buster. Sweet. I've made a way to combat jealousy, as well as bashing ego! I think I'm done now... Thus concludes another entry to the AfterStuff! Keep commenting, keep reading, keep requesting entries!
(If this didn't help you out, Crystal, let me know. I'll fix it.)

The AfterStuff of D Kyzer
I guess it SHOULD be afterMATH, but math bores me. Stuff is cool. This is a place where my insanity goes. (Or at least some of it.) There may be a little bit of quotable thinking here, but those moments will probably be few and far between.
