• I wanted to fall asleep. this was the worst class. We never did anything in this class.
I glanced through the open doorway. Two unfamiliar girls glared at each other. I had never seen them before. The two seemed to be polar opposites. One was a short, tan, blonde, while the other was a tall, pale, black haired girl. The blonde was slightly chubby with a feminine physique. She wore bright, cheerful colors with bubbly cartoon characters on the front of her t-shirt. The pale one was stick thin with little but her skinniness. Her dark clothing had strange symbols that gave her a weird, twisted aura.
I watched them, absorbed in the angry electricity practically shooting from their eyes. When I thought the scene couldn't get any more intense, the blonde spoke.
"I trusted you," she growled. Her voice, which must have normally been very sweet and cheerful, steamed with hurt and hatred. "You said you would come. I was counting on you to save me."
The pale girl moved her head cockily. "The world does not revolve around you, girl."
Blonde stepped towards pale. "We were best friends. Days ago, I would have given you my life."
Pale leaned her face close to Blonde's. "What makes you think I would want it?" She straightened up. "Get off your pedestal." She lovingly stroked Blonde's cheek. "Just because you have a pretty face doesn't mean everybody worships you."
Blonde grabbed Pale's wrist roughly. "You did."
Pale pulled away. "That meant nothing."
Blonde stepped closer. "You are a lier. You said so much then."
"You did too, girl." Pale turned away and looked down the empty hallway. "Then you run off with...*him.*"
Blonde pulled her shoulder so that they were facing each other. "Like you're any different. I know about your 'master.'"
Pale tensed. "You were the one following us." Her voice then turned to poison."You have no right." She menacingly grabbed a wad of Blonde's t-shirt.
Blonde grabbed Pale's wrist. "I have every right. You are mine."
Pale easily pulled away. "I never actually agreed to that. I've come close, but I never did."
Blonde put her hand tentatively on Pale's shoulder.
"What are you doing, girl?"Pale sneered.
Blonde pushed Pale away in disgust. "We're done."She slipped a small glowing ring from her finger."All we've done-"
    Pale's eyes went wide."Don't!"
Blonde stared coldly at her and began to speak again. Pale slapped her hand over Blonde's mouth. "We've done too much."
    Blonde pulled away."It's too late."
Pale glared sadly at her."What is wrong with you? You haven't acted the same since..."
    Blonde narrowed her eyes."Since when?"
    "Since him."
    Blonde shoved Pale."Take that back."
She shook her head."You ran off with him. He's changed you."
She slapped pale."maybe he's right. You're just a miserable, egotistical loser. You just want your loyal little followers to obediently do as you say."
Pale sneered."You're one to talk. You want attention. You're willing to do anything to get it. And he dotes on you. He has you in the palm of his hand. You're willing to do anything for that villain."
"He's more of a hero than you'll ever be."
Pale leaned her face close to Blonde's."Like your life, what would make you think that I would want to be a hero?"
Blonde shook her head."You're not convincing me. All we've done togeth-"
Blonde was instantly on the ground with Pale pinning her to the cold, dirty, tiled, school floor. "I can't let you do that. There is too much. The world as we know it would unravel at the seams."
"We're done. There is nothing left to savage. You've destroyed us. All we've done means nothing now." Blonde looked right into Pale's dark eyes."All we've done together never happened."
As Blonde finished the sentence she had been trying to utter, the ring glowed bright and levitated. As Pale was distracted, Blonde pushed her off and stood.
"What have you done?"Pale whispered. She looked down at her own ring which was glowing just as bright.
Blonde looked on as her ring began to spin. "You made me do this, you know,"she said calmly. "I trusted you. All of this is over."
Pale stood."You shouldn't have done this. Too much has happened between us and because of us. We've done too much that affected the world."
Blonde scoffed."It doesn't matter anymore." She turned to leave.
"You stupid, selfish, attention wh ore!!!"Pale screamed down the hall.
Blonde only turned her head to speak over her shoulder. "What do you mean, wh ore? I'm not getting paid."Silently she strode down the hall and out of my sight.
"You stupid girl,"Pale whispered before the ring emitted a flash of light, and she was gone.
I blinked. There was no trace of what had just happened. The bell rang and I ran into the hall, where any evidence could have existed was momentarily washed away by the flood of ignorant high school students.
I never saw them again. I never knew what they were talking about. I never knew what happened. I never knew how they changed the world. I don't know what was going on.
Even now, I'm not even sure it was real.
