• "Hurry up Lola", I said pointing ahead to where my mother grandmother lived. "Just a little further Lola we can make it", I said grabbing her hand witch had gone purple in the below zero weather. It was the middle of winter, December 20th, and we had been out in the cold for at least a good half the day. When we finally reached the door I gently knocked three times. When the door opened a young woman stood looking like she had just witnessed a murder at us. "Um excuse me is Tabitha here"? I asked her. "Lyla"? She whispered amazed. "Yes that's me", I told her. Then out of no where the woman embraced me in a giant bear hug. "Who are you, get off of me crazy laddie"! I yelled as I began kicking and throwing my fists at her. "Lyla Lee Mathews you stop that right now, you do not kick people"! She yelled at me pushing me away. "Who are you and how do you know my name"?! I yelled at her. "Who do you think I am"? She asked grabbing Lola and pulling her to her side. The resemblance between them was flawless, same light gray eye's and same long black flowing hair. "Oh my god, Lilly"?! I screamed. She nodded as I flung myself into her arms. "Lilly our older sister"? Lola asked. "Yes it is"! I shrieked to Lola still hugging Lilly close. Then Lola flung herself onto Lilly and I, all three of us giggled and talked for the longest time until grandma came outside. "Lilly I thought I asked you too", She stopped short when she saw Lola and I. "My dear god", She whispered as Lola and I hugged her. "Dearest Lola darling what happened to you"? She asked looking at the scar my father had caused nearly a year ago now by breaking a beer bottle over her head. "Father", She murmured quietly under her breath. "Oh my lord, Lyla look at you"! She said grabbing my arm gently. The bruises had worsened to an almost complete purple. "I think you know", I said fire dancing behind my eyes. "It's time grandma we have the evidence we need lets go, I need you to take custody of Lola and I, or else one of these days one of is going to go and not return", I said choosing my wording carefully around Lola. She nodded and then opened the door for us to come in. "Get settled tonight and tomorrow morning I will take you to court".
