• Kali was eight years old when she first got Scruffy, her dog. He was already two years old when she took him home from her grandpa's farm. Scruffy was a beagle, a small one too. When Kali took him home, he was the size of a puppy. He could barely carry a stick in his mouth. But one day, Kali was playing on her older brother's skateboard. She wasn't wearing a helment, and she fell off, her head hitting the concrete sidewalk. It knocked her out cold. Scruffy had followed her, thankfully, so he began licking her face to wake her up. When that didn't work, Scruffy realized that he had to find a way to get Kali home. He was a weak dog, but that day, he somehow grew stronger, strong enough to drag Kali onto the skateboard and pushing the skateboard down to her house. Some say that the dog always had strenght, but others, most of people, say that when he realized that when Kali got hurt, the love for her in his heart gave him the strenght to bring her home.
