• Orange-yellow flames were engulfing nearby buildings as I was running for dear life. I shot a gland behind me to see if I had evaded the monster but like a bat in the night, shadowed wings outspread across the moon suddenly began growing rapidly as the beast drew near to seal my doom. I was out of options, no plan B or plan A for that matter. My entire life presented itself before me as I continued to sprint through the crumbled city. Swaying to and frow from my neck was the so-called "mystic" medallion that my grandfather gave to me. He said "When the time comes when you have reached the end of the line, that medallion will light the way to your salvation." Looking back now, I realize that my grandfather was just a crazy old fool. As I began to tire I lost any hope and accepted my death. I turned to face the nightmare that was zooming toward me at incredible speeds. Suddenly, as I closed my eyes, the medallion started to glow with and aura that encased my entire body. And in an instant the orbnwith me inside burst with a blinding lights that stopped the dragon in its path. I kept my eyes sealed as I was suspended in mid-air for a minute. Finally the light subsided and I opened my eyes. What I say at that very moment would astonish me for the rest of my life. I had changed, and in more ways than one. Without realizing I had them, wings spread outstretched behind me. My clothes were replaced mith metallic armor with the medallion as the center piece. Not knowing what was happening I just stood paralyzed, waiting for the dragon to kill me. As he reached within a meter of my position a sudden beam of immaculate crimson light shot forth fro my medallion and as quickly as the dragon reached me, he evaporated in the ray. Taking in all that had happened I feinted and was out for hours. I awoke the next day and saw that my new armor was gone and I had returned to my normal self. Was it a dream? Had I imagined what took place? I looked down at my amulate and noticed that it was still glowing faintly. With a cascading smile and a new, revelation, I shouted out the window of my room, " A new dawn is here, the dawn of the Crimson Eagle!!"
