• The only thing mortals feared these days, was some stupid thing that was supposed to happen.
I don't know what the big deal about it is. I don't know the full details.
All I know is that some half breed were to come to their village. Pathetic. It took a little nothing to get them worked up.
I sighed, in my bush. I hid here all the time, because the forest was boring to me now.
I lived in the forest. Me, the half breed. You can't say that I am exactly a half breed, though.I have a red tail, like a wolf. I am only half human, and I feed on flesh.
So, I am a half breed wolf.
I can live on animal skin, but mortal skin smells fine.
This is it. I'm going today. This forest is hell, I thought.
Today was the day I was going into the village, and act like a normal mortal.
    That's easier said than done.
Their flesh attracts me, pulling me to hunt, to feed. This is when I'm my half breed self.
I can live on human food, though.
So, immagine when I'm a full wolf form.
When I do go into my wolf form, my fur is red and dark, and I have strange black markings on my fur.
On a full moon, I turn all human. I stay that way, untill sunrise.
Mortals know that half breeds exist, so I don't have to hide my tail. But, some nasty superstitions to the ones who are more afraid, think we are evil. So, some of them might react the wrong way, but I am not the only half breed in here. So, this might be easier.
I inhaled deeply, and walked into the village.
I only wore brown boots and gloves, and a green tunic, that was somewhat like a dress. I have a pixie from I have no idea where that follows me around. Her name is Kili. My ruby necklace glows if I'm about to change form. So, I'm able to control myself before it happens.
    It doesn't always help, though.
Though, I only have a craving for anythings flesh when I'm in my wolf form. So, I'm extra careful.
I walked deeper into the village, to an abandoned house off-road. I walked inside.
This will be long, I thought.
Just looking at the living room made me depressed.
It was full of dust and spiders. I shuddered. Strong as I am, I hate things that crawl, especially spiders.
Kili, looked at me, her red aura glowing, and sighed.
"I've got it." She said, and flew around the house.
Next thing I knew, it was spotless, and beautiful. Every single wall of the house was black, for which I was glad. All the floors were white, but different shades.
I walked into the room that was my bedroom.
The bed was covered with a nice golden comforter, and a thick pillow. I sat on it a moment, then got up and out of the house. I needed air.
I walked to the park. Someplace I knew was safe, and yet full of good air. I was so used to fresh air, that I was going to suffocate within a week in that house.
I walked to the fountain in the middle of the park, and sat on the edge. I stared at y reflection in the water.
My golden-blond hair moved in the breeze of the day, and I sniffed at the air. I smelled a intriguing smell...
I bolted up behind a tree.
There, going to where I just came from, was a man, about thirty eight. His grey beard and hair moved in the breeze, but this was not the mortal I had smelled. I had smelled another half breed, exept it was kind of like a fox-wolf...
The man turned to stare at me, and grinned. I knew what he was going to do, because he held a gun in his back pocket. His hand twitched to it, as he came towards me.
His badge on his shirt, read: Half breed exterminator.
The old hags had gotten the town hall to finally do as they asked.
Little do they know, that we are immortal. What a waste.
But, acting on instinct, I crouched, tensed to pounce. My necklace shone bright, a warning for this man. He payed it no attention.
All the leaves fell off the tree, covering me. Something always hid me as I changed. I liked that.
I padded out of the leaf pile, my red fur darker than usual, because I had never had to use this form as defense before. The ruby in my necklace was now on my forhead, surrounded by black markings. I growled, as I bared my teeth. A crowd formed. They had never seen a half breed fight in their lives.
I flicked my tail, a natural last warning for him. He drew his gun. Poor sap, he does not know we cannot be killed, only if they do it right... I thought, and growled once more.
He grinned, and pulled the trigger.
It went right through me, and it left no mark. I growled again.
He gulped, and tightened his eyes. He was sweating. I could hear it, see it, and smell it. Ew.
A different growl came from inside the crowd, as a black and white fox emerged. That same smell rolling off of him...
I saw that it was not a fox, but a fox-wolf. He stood beside me, as the gold stone on his forehead glowed. It shone brighter, because he was protecting me, another half breed. I could see it in his intentions that he did not want the man to live. We both growled, as the crowd moved back a space.
Our stones shone, as we bared our teeth, and lunged for his throat and arms.
It was odd, that the human's skin did not trigger the hunting.
I was well in control, and so was he.
The man fell, and we killed him in one swipe, not feeding on his flesh. Not to push it too far...
The crowd stared at us both for a moment, before they cheered. We ran away, to the small begining in the woods. We didn't go far, before I turned back into my human form, fully clothed. He did the same, also fully dressed.
His hair was a mystical black, his skin a tone darker than mine, almost pale. His green eyes glowed, and stedied. The necklace he wore, had a gold stone. He had a dark blue t-shirt, and black pants. The pixie at his side was blue, and a bright blue, too.
"Thanks." I said, voice soft. All half breeds had a soft voice like no mortal had ever heard.
"My pleasure." He grinned. Something he was thinking made me wonder, but I shook out that thought.
"I would have been fine on my own, though." I told him, and sat down on the forest floor, tail thumping. He sat, too, his own black tail thumping.
"I know." He smiled. "But, I had sensed a half breed, and I have not seen one in so long."
"Me too. I just came out of hiding in the forest today, and I run into a half breed killer." I growled at the thougt of the man again. "Why do they think we are monsters?" I asked skeptically.
"Maybe because we are different, and stronger than them. Or maybe because they just think that our 'wild side' can be triggered because of anything." He answered my no-answer question.
"By the way, I'm Light." I told him.
"Nice to meet you, Light. I'm Darkness." He grinned.
