• With a sketch pad in her lap and pencils of every color by her side, it would be impossible to bring her back to reality. It was truly amazing how much care she put into each tiny detail. Every curve, angle, line and shape was precise and perfect. I stared in wonder as she drew rolling hills with a sparkling, clear, blue river flowing in between them. Soon a field of wildflowers grew in all sorts of colors. Pinks and blues, yellows and reds. It was like an earth bound rainbow. Trees grew tall and strong. Birds nested in their thick, protective, branches. Butterflies flew with grace over the wildflowers, while mother birds taught their young to fly.

I was spellbound by the drawing. It was like looking through a window and if I stuck my head through it, I would hear the birds singing and smell the beautiful scent of the wildflowers. I wanted so badly to be there, with the birds, the butterflies, those colorful flowers.

She suddenly came to a halt and I broke out of my trance. I watched her carefully as she stood and propped the drawing up against the wall. She turned around, walked to the other side of the room, and then turned back to face her creation. Minutes went by until she finally smiled and I let out a breath realizing that I had been holding it.

"It's beautiful." I told her. She turned toward me and smiled. As if she had a little secret.

"If I show you something, do you promise not to tell anyone?" she asked me. I nodded.

" Come, take my hand." she said, holding out her hand. I took it. What was she doing?

"Don't let go until I tell you it's okay, and remember you can't tell anyone." she reminded me.

She reached out and placed her free hand on the drawing. At first nothing happened, then suddenly I felt dizzy, the room was melting away. I felt like I was going to throw up, so I closed my eyes and tried to breathe evenly.

All of a sudden,My nausea faded,I didn't feel dizzy anymore. Carefully I opened my eyes and looked around. I gasped. The art studio was gone.
