• Chapter One: Prophecies

The day is March 15th 2003 the day when the lives of two young boys were forever changed. A day when many prophecies were foretold about the past, and their futures. This is the story of those two boys and the beginning of their battles to protect the world from the coming of the Dark Guardians and prevent their wrath from unfolding.
Eiodon Hyobanshi, sixteen years of age who is one of the two had been reading a news paper about a new exhibit coming to the museum that had just been discovered in Egypt. He had wanted to go to this ever since he heard it was coming to their town. “Today’s the day! Finally! Ah man, I better get Kuro, this is going to be awesome, then again, he’s not much into history. Oh well.” Eiodon said as he rushed through the backdoor and in the backyard.
His friend, Korubi Kazemaru who was fifteen years of age, lived right behind his house, so it was easy for them to see each other at any time of day. He then jumped over the wooden fence between the houses and landed in the backyard, rushing to Korubi’s back door. He then knocked on it as Korubi came to the door. “Yo, Kuro! I’m dragging you to the museum today. There’s a new exhibit in, it looks pretty interesting.” Eiodon said, catching his breath just a bit as he leaned against the side of the door. “Eiodon, you know I’m not much into that stuff like you are, then again, I’ve got nothing to do here, and I’m bored as hell. Fine, I’ll go.” Korubi sighed as he pushed his black hair out of his eyes. “Heh, I knew you would.” Eiodon laughed, standing up straight as they both went inside to grab some snacks and drinks.
They then went out as they got in the car and took of to the museum downtown.
As they got there, they walked up to the building and saw the crowd. “Damn…there sure is a lot of people here to see this thing today...wait, follow me, I know another way in so we can avoid the crowd.” Eiodon said as he motioned Korubi to follow. Korubi simply nodded and slowly walked after Eiodon. There was a small alley way they went into as they came across a door. Quietly, the both of them entered in as they came right into one of the exhibits, neighboring the one that had just come in. “So, what exactly are we here to see anyways Eiodon?” Korubi asked, crossing his arms as he stood, looking around the room. “All I know is that we’re here to see some exhibit they have on a new city they came across out near Egypt.” Eiodon shrugged as he saw the exhibit. “There it is! Alright, let’s see if we can squeeze through all these people.” He said rushing towards the crowd. “Damn it Eiodon, he’s going to get us kicked out of here acting like that.” Korubi said as he looked to see Eiodon pushing his way through the crowd. “Oh well…then again, I get us kicked out of a lot of places, mostly for other un mentionable reasons though.” He said with a slight bit of a laugh as he walked on to the crowed and regretfully followed Eiodon in.
As the two got to the front, they were shocked at the sight they saw. What they were looking at was a large rock slab with pictures of people, but not just any people, two of them on the slab was them. “Um, dude, are you seeing what I’m seeing?” Eiodon asked, looking up in shock. “I..think..so.” Korubi said in disbelief. “It looks just like us.” Eiodon said looking at two of the figures closer. “And not just that but it looks like there’s four others in there across from our pictures, and they look well…kind of evil.” Eiodon gulped. Korubi simply sighed. “Eiodon, your way to paranoid you know that? For one thing, there’s no way that can be us, we were never around during then. And about those four looking evil…I mean come on, they’re just human, what could they possibly do?” Korubi asked, laughing at Eiodon’s sudden fear when he saw the picture, though Korubi himself felt something wrong going on. He didn’t know why this feeling came to him, but it was a feeling that the stone actually had something to do with them.
Meanwhile, back in Egypt an orange portal of fire began to open as one dark figure came walking out with long black hair and black eyes. His skin was pale. He came out wearing a black armor. “Ah yes…it feels good to stretch again.” The man said as he began stretching his arms and legs. “Yes, I have broken from my seal just in time…I can feel those two disgraces around here. But what’s this? They seem weak.” He said with a laugh that slowly died to a smirk. His hand held out as a dark black circle opened up in the ground as it showed an image of Eiodon and Korubi looking at the tablet. “No, they mustn’t find out anything…I have no choice but to strike them now…yes, it’s been such a long time…since I’ve had the chance to snap someone’s neck off.” He said in a low tone then laughed as the circle changed and he slowly sunk into it.
Eiodon…I don’t know why…but do you have a sudden bad feeling? Cause something in my gut is really acting up…either something’s going to happen, or those burritos for breakfast and dinner last night was a bad idea.” He said looking to Eiodon, his arms dropping from their crossed position slowly to his sides as they both made a fist. “Yea…as weird as it is, I can feel it to.” He said, taking a long hard swallow as he looked around. They both then heard a loud boom as steel doors came flying towards them. They both jumped out of the way as it smashed the glass behind them, falling onto the both of them. Screaming was then heard as the dark figure in a black armor came walking in. He then pulled out a black sword and began slashing people with it as blood began to splatter every where. It didn’t matter who they were, women, men, or children. They were ruthlessly slaughtered before this man. “Korubi?! Are you ok?!” Eiodon asked, rising out of the broken glass slowly, with a few cuts on him. Korubi then got up. “Yea, I think. I’m just cut up a bit…but what the hell was that?” He asked as they saw the two steel doors behind them. “Damn…by the way it looks, it seems like a twister blew them down. But nothing else is damaged.” Eiodon said as he heard more screaming start. “It sounds like it’s a robbery or something. Dude, lets get the hell out of here before the guy gets in here.” Eiodon said, but it was to late, the man came into the room.
He glared over at the two boys. “Yea, your definitely them.” He said with a smirk. The two boys looked at each other confused then looked at the tablet. “You mean them? I don’t think that’s possible, if it was we’d be a bit older than this.” Eiodon said, with a shiver running up his spin. Korubi was in an angry and afraid state. “What the hell do you want?” He growled out in anger. The man simply glared at him. “Want? Why, nothing more than to kill you two for what you did to me.” He said shrugging. “Do you know what it feels like to be sealed away for a few thousand years?!” He yelled, now with some anger. “Its pretty damn annoying, not being able to see the outside, or even kill a few people here and there. Well, no worries now. You two are helpless at the moment, and no one is here to save you. So I’m going to make this slow and enjoyable.” He said as he approached Korubi. “You seem cocky…why don’t you die first.” He said, knocking him into the other side of glass as Eiodon jumped at the man’s arm trying to get him for attacking Korubi. But Eiodon wasn’t near being a match for him. He was simply smacked away without even a sweat being dropped. “Ah!” Eiodon yelled as he hit the ground on his back, and holding his gut where he had been knocked. Korubi slowly got up from the broken glass with cuts all over his body. Blood was pouring from his wounds, and Eiodon who was laying in glass was bleeding as well, but not as badly as Korubi.
“You two are making this to easy.” The man laughed as he walked over to Eiodon since the man thought of him as stupid, trying to stop him from attacking Korubi. The man then stepped on Eiodon’s chest and started to crush down on him. “Gaaaah!” He yelled out but then lost his breath as the figure began crushing down on him. “Not so fun being knocked around and not able to defend yourself is it?” He asked with a laugh. Eiodon was struggling to get the man’s weight off of him as Korubi jumped on to his back with a big piece of glass, attempting to cut his throat, but as it cut and drew blood a dark smoke began to come out as it spread throughout the room, making it dark and hard to see in. Korubi was then grabbed up and held in front of the man, dangling as he was held by his throat..
It seemed hopeless for the two almost lifeless boys. “Well, I suppose since your both almost dead, it should be ok to tell you who I am. My name is Grimm. I am the one you, or your former selves or whatever sealed me away in that damned Phoenix Gate. So, I’ll just kill you two before you can have a chance to do anything to me this time. And then this entire world will be brought to its knees in darkness.” He said with a laugh as he began to crush Korubi’s throat. Then as hope seemed far away, a sudden light came bursting in, but it wasn’t just a light, it had warmth from it. It was fire, but it was focused into a beam like state as it hit Grimm in the chest, knocking him backwards as the smoke began to disperse. Korubi then was dropped as he landed near Eiodon. They both were trying desperately to catch their breath. “What was that?!” Grimm yelled out looking around as he saw a large hole in the wall. Suddenly a huge black phoenix like creature walked through it. “Grimm, leave these boys be, or I will destroy you right here and now.” The phoenix said in normal English as Grimm stood back up slowly with smoke from his charred armor began to rise up, setting off fire alarms. Grimm glared at the phoenix. “Hyphirion…your still around I see. Your such an annoying bird. However, I’m glad you showed up, now I get the pleasure of killing all three of you!” He yelled as he drew the bloody black sword and began walking towards them. “Not so fast Grimm…” Hyphirion said as he lifted his leg up and held up an orange jewel in front of him in his beak. “I believe your well acquainted with this aren’t you?” He asked.
“What’s that?! The Jewel of the Phoenixes?! But, I thought it was destroyed years ago after the portal sealed me and the others up!” He yelled out in anger as the jewel began to glow orange with a flame in it. “Damn. He would be the one to re seal me in there…” Grimm said as he began to back away. “Fine, you’ll win this one. But only because I think I want to have a challenge...yes, I wish to fight them at their best.” He smirked as he sheathed his sword. “But know this. I am stronger than before, and even have new dangerous techniques from learning inside that portal.” He smirked as he began to sink into a black puddle of water. “Farewell for now my friends. Enjoy what days you’ve got left.” He laughed as he vanished into it. Hyphirion then turned to the unconscious boys as an orange light began to surround them. Minutes later, their wounds had been healed and closed up as they slowly began to sit up. When they saw the large phoenix they both moved back in fear. “What the hell is this?!” Eiodon yelled as he got against the wall. Korubi looked at it then him. “If we make it out of this alive, this is the LAST time I go anywhere with you!” He yelled. “Relax you two, you are both safe now.” The phoenix said in a calm voice as he held the jewel in his mouth. “I have much to tell you so listen carefully to me. Behold the tablet behind you.” He said as the boys got up slowly and cautiously to look at it. “Eiodon, you were right, that is both of you there.” He said as Eiodon looked at him. “How do you know my name?” He asked, confused as Korubi was looking at both of them.
“I have watched you both carefully from your births. I was hoping this day wouldn’t come, but the man you saw just then, Grimm, was an enemy of both of you guys in the past, two thousand six hundred years ago. There was a fight between you guys and men called the Dark Guardians. They controlled elemental powers, only with dark energy. You, you guys controlled dark elements, only for good and not evil. Eiodon, you were known as the Black Phoenix Knight. Korubi, you were the Shadow Wolf of the Wind, or as you were known, Korubi of the Azure Wind. You were both great warriors in the past. And now your enemy has broken free, and I will need to two to pick up your armors and weapons and fight again to protect this earth.” He said as he looked at them. “Do you accept this offer?” He asked, his eyes giving them a piercing look. Korubi then looked at him in disbelief. “Yea, right…I have better things to..” “I say bring it on. I could use some excitement in my life. And after seeing all of this happen, I believe everything.” Eiodon interrupted as he stepped forward. “Eiodon are you insane? Your talking to a bird accepting some crazy fight offer. Your pretty much asking to be put in the grave you know?” He asked with a growl. “Settle down Korubi.” Eiodon laughed. “If there really is some type of power we gain or some art we learn on how to fight this guy, then I think we can do it. Sure it seems completely absurd but think…if this guy really is like what Hyphirion here is talking about, we don’t have much of a choice. Fight or not, we’ll probably end up dead, but if we don’t fight it’ll only come sooner. And I don’t know about you but I don’t go down so easily, plus I’ve got some anger to take out on that psycho path.” Eiodon said, cracking his neck as Korubi suddenly cracked a smile. “Well well, our little Eiodon’s acting like a big man now.” He joked then sighed. “I must be out of my mind following your crazy plans.” He laughed. “Fine…if he’s in, then I guess I am.” He nodded as Hyphirion grinned at them both.
“Alright, then we’re both going to do this…so what now? Is there some test or something?” He asked as Hyphirion looked to him. “Actually, there is. The Jewel of the Phoenixes will now send you to different tombs in Egypt. You will be put through tests to get your armors…and if you make it out, Eiodon, this jewel belongs to you. But only if you pass will you receive it.” He said as the two looked at each other. “Alright, bring it on.” Eiodon said. “I’m ready as I’ll ever be I guess.” Korubi shrugged as the jewel began to glow as did their bodies as they disappeared.
