kakashi~where's ann?
sakura~over there against the wall. she's actually rolled into the blanket
kakashi~she never sleeps with one
ravi~she seemed cold though...
kakashi~how long has she been out?
naruto~longer than you. she didn't get to see that cool water jutsu you used

from her burst she fell short of face planting on kakashi's bedding
tsunami~is she...alright?

kakashi moved over and pulled ann on top of the bedding. everyone sighed when she took his pillow
naruto~who's ane? why is she so scary?
tazuna~i've forgotten her last name, but she was so scary she allowed it to be changed when she married
naruto~so? ann doesn't have a last name and yet she's known throughout our village
tazuna~she was stronger than the mizukage and the seven swordsmen combined. she was practically worshipped as a goddess
naruto~she's not still around, is she?
kakashi~she was kia'd, that much was confirmed. however there has been a rumor that she had a child just a month before that...ravi, has ann told you anything about her past?
ravi~no. cuz we tend to exchange stories. so if she says something about before the academy years i will to, but we already agreed that it's off limits for discussion
sasuke~what about her and zabuza? neither showed any intent to kill the other
sakura~the way she treated him too was almost...friendly to her standards
naruto~sensei, when she summoned that dragon, didn't she mention something about her family?
tazuna~just how well do you know that girl to allow her on your team still?
sakura~she's been with us since the academy
sasuke~anything before her enrollment no one knows

a boy walked in being introduced as inari. the ruckus between him and naruto about heroes woke ann. she threw the pillow at inari
ann~know your place brat or i'll be babysitting you
the gennings backed up against the closest wall. she and the boy stared at each other until he turned to go to his room. naruto grumbled and followed him
kakashi~ann, who was your mother?
ann~she died when i was a baby. i was only told that she was a feared woman not to mess with. i think my father was from unknown class. you just used your question about my past and you won't get another until next week. where's the bathroom?

she helped ann up and just as they were about to slide the door open naruto went out
naruto~oh, sorry girls
as they went up kakashi scratched his head
sakura~something wrong?
kakashi~aside from ann still hiding secrets, i just suddenly felt as if there's more to the picture...including ann...that hunter nin from earlier should have disposed of zabuza's body on the stop, and if he needed some proof he could have just taken his head. not only that, but his method of killing him through needles
sasuke~there's a chance that he's still alive...
sakura~but you checked that he was dead!
kakashi~or he could have been put under suspended animation
naruto~then what does this have to do with ann?
tazuna~do you always talk behind her back?

ann~they're talking about me
ravi~since meeting those chuunins you have been acting odd, even for you
ann~will you still keep my secrets no matter what until the end of this when i can tell them?
ravi~yeah ann, anything
ann~my mother is ane, the woman that tazuna had mentioned before. her younger brother is zabuza
ravi~you mean the ninja we just fought???
ann~yeah, so he's my uncle and by the sounds of it his apprentice saved

ann~i only met him once, and it was several months after i came to the leaf. lord hokage knows since we were in the academy. i'm actually surprised only he realized i was the spitting image of ane

ann~no...but i do remember a locket zabuza would wear sometimes...and he always said i was just like her
ravi~are you gonna sneak out?
ann~I'm considering it...but i'm not sure if sensei will be on the look out
ravi~what if i can get the others to help?

when they came back down, everyone stared at them

sasuke~is there anything you're not telling us?
sakura~anything that could help us for this mission?
ann~ *sigh* well...if i really had wanted to, i could have easily held my own against zabuza...that was just my first fight with a jounin in this kind of situation
kakashi~anything else?
ann~You'll know when we finish this mission
kakashi~whatever you're keeping could jeopardize this mission. it would be better to tell now before it's too late
ann~and by telling you, you won't do your duty as jounin
kakashi~why wouldn't i?
ann~cuz you'll try protecting me instead of tazuna. i'm not an idiot kakashi, ravi and i could have easily been rid of during our academy years
ravi~is that bad thing or good?
ann~good for us, but it was decided against it because it wouldn't benefit the village

when ann nodded he sighed
kakashi~walk up the ceiling first. ravi you too
they both nodded and hung upside down
ravi~what's the point of this?
kakashi~you two are protecting him tomorrow. ann, just be back in one piece tonight...
ann hopped down, put on her shoes, and ran off
naruto~are you sure it was a good idea?
kakashi~less troubling if i let her...and she'll listen
tazuna~where do you think she'll go?
kakashi~zabuza's...but it also seems like she's trying to protect him an us

ravi~i know it doesn't always seem like it, but she does care about this team. she won't allow anyone to die if she can help it
