Koneko~wow! It’s so pretty!
Ann~but there are still fiends. Leave your things with us, and the three of you can explore. We’ll meet at a lake down that road. You’ll come across it on the left too. Keep your weapons ready and stay together. Some of the fiends are tough and some only respond to magic
Tenka~let’s go up the left trail!
Koneko gasped and pulled her brothers along
Ann~oh shoot, I forgot to tell them about the butterflies…
Kiba~butterflies?
Ann~the red ones will attract stronger fiends.
Kiba~good thing they’re smart kids.
Ann~yeah. Come on, I want to rest a bit while we wait for the kids.
Kiba~alright. And they’ll be find on their own like this?
Ann~yeah. Dad let me run off like that too. They won’t get into trouble
The two made their way down the middle path with their belongings. After walking some ways down, the path forked again to an open clearning with a tree growing at the center of a small lake
Ann~if emotions get out of hand here, friends sometimes appear
Kiba~did something happen here for you?
Ann~dad showed me a bit of his adventures. He can control the pyreflies very easily and showed his memories. His travels weren’t easy, and some things that happened could have been avoided if he didn’t have to follow the teachings of yevon. Others…was just too much
Kiba~did you know everything there was by the time you got here?
Ann~No. the worse memory I saw was at the ruins. While we rested here, I dreamt of how he discovered mom passed. Their pilgrimage had only started, and they didn’t leave guadosalam for three days.
Kiba~when you woke, there were fiends?
Ann~yes, a horde. We were ambushed since dad was sleeping too. We quickly headed to the inn nearby, so he could calm me down without the fiends coming back
Kiba~was this the first time you came here?
Ann~no. dad was quick to leave the area after I had my fill of running around. It didn’t happen until later, when we came from the far plains going to the calm lands.
Kiba~makes me a little worried about the kids. They still argue with each other
Ann~unless one of them is ready to kill the other, they shouldn’t accidentally summon any fiends.

After a while of waiting, the triplets eventually found their way to the clearing. They collapsed on their parents, waking them
Ann~had fun exploring?
Reiketsu~the fiends are fast. Even the bulky ones
koneko~if tenka wasn’t good with magic, the flans and elementals would be much harder
tenka~there were also armored fiends that your daggers pierced
koneko~your spear does too
tenka~you deal more damage than me
reiketsu~do we have water and snacks?
Ann~yeah. Sit up so I can grab them
The three rolled off her and ann pulled out some fruit from the bag and split it between the three
Ann~if you three still want to relax a bit longer, you can swim in the lake there.
Koneko~sounds fun.
Reiketsu~are there fiends here too?
Ann~yeah, but not as much as the path. Still bring your weapons and you’ll be fine.

After a little bit, the triplets came back
Kiba~do all of you need to change?
They nodded. Kiba reached into the bag to pull out a change of clothes for them. Ann helped them out of their wet clothes and into their new set as kiba took care of their wet clothes.
Ann~o’aka’s shop isn’t too far from here. It used to be an inn, so I’m sure he’ll let us stay for the night
Tenka~he owes you a favor, doesn’t he?
Ann just smiled and gave him a wink. They went out of the alcove and followed the path north. It slowly began to snow
Koneko~are we in the mountains?
Ann~no. there used to be a temple here that held an ice aeon. Her temple is inaccessible though
Reiketsu~did you do something?
Ann~no! not this time actually. Although, this is where yuna and her guardians got excommunicated
Reiketsu~that has to be a good story since grandpa was her guardian
Ann~hehe, I’ll tell you as a bedtime story then. O’aka’s shop isn’t much further.
