He Was Soki, Oni Of The Ash, He Was The Black Oni, He Was The Blue Demon
He Was A Ronin Samurai From The Toyotomi Clan.
He Was Hideyasu Yuki, A Lonely Man.

It Could Feel So Empty There Without His Companions.
Roberto and Ohatsu Had long Since Left To Sawayama Castle To Check How Well-Guarded The Area Was. Arin, The Young Maiden Who Had Kindly Allowed Them To Stay At The Temple, Left To Meditate And Pray To Calm To Souls Of Mount Hiei. And He, He Had Been Left Alone In The Temple.
Even Menokichi, Who He Would Have Gladly Shared A Conversation With, Slept Quietly On A Cushion.

Hideyasu Removed His Armor, It Was Uncomfortable, And He Needed Time To Relax. Time Spent Combating His Father, The Genma And Storming San Espania Hospital Had Left Him Weary. He Adjusted The Clothing He Wore Under The Heavy Armor, It Looked Okay, But It Had A Worn-Out Familiar Feel To It As Well.

Hideyasu Didn't Feel Like His Usual Cocky, Upbeat Self,
For The First Time Since Meeting Up With Ohatsu, He Had Felt Regret, Sadness,
And Loneliness. He Remembered How Munenori Had Taunted Him, Speaking Of How Beautiful She Was, And How He Would Never Get Her Back. He Recalled The Curse Of The Genma Insects On Her, And How He Had Fought Through The Oni Mansion To Save Her. Ohatsu Was Probably The Single Person Who Could Comfort Him
And She Was Gone, Observing The Genma Forces At Sawayama.

Hideyasu Let Out A Long, Drawn-Out Sigh.
'Perhaps I Need Sleep.' He Sat Next To The Kitten Who Had Grown Accoustomed To Sleeping On His Bed, And Battled Wether Or Not To Sleep.

A Familiar 'Clack' Broke The Silence Of The Room.
The Shoji Had Been Shut A Little Too Fast.
Hideyasu Look Up From The Bed.

It Was Akane.
She Had Returned From A Three-Day Search For Munenori.
She Wore A Sorry, Embarassed Expression,
'Oh, Hey, Did I Wake You?'
Hideyasu Shook His Head.
'No, I Haven't Slept Yet.'

Akane Flopped Next To Him And Idley Played With The Cat.
'You Don't Look So Well, You Should At Least Try To Sleep.'
Akane Spoke With Slight Concern In Her Voice.
Hideyasu Stood Up And Streached Before Sitting Back Down,
'No, I Think I Need Some Time To Think, Or A Person To Talk To.'

Akane Faced him With A Saddened Look,
'Well, I'm Here If You'd Like To Talk To Me...'

Hideyasu's Face Softened.
'Thank You.'
Akane Smiled Slightly,
'No Problem!'

Akane Set Onimaru Down With Her Pack Full Of Miscellaneous Supplies.

'So, Tell Me What's Eating At You, Blue.'
Hideyasu Shifted Uncomfortable,
'Well, It's Just That It Feels So Empty Here Without Anyone, I'm Glad you Came In'
Hideyasu Paused And Sighed Before Continuing,
'And The Genma, They've Ruined Everything, And...Ohatsu.'


Akane Focused Her Eyes To Her Feet,
She Had Long Harbored Jelousy To Ohatsu.
She Had Known Hideyasu Longer Than She Had,
She Was Always By His Side.
Akane Had Wished She Could Have Been In That Position,
A Secret She Had Revealed Only To Arin, Who had Once Joked About It.

'What About Ohatsu?'
Hideyasu Sighed Again,
'It's Just, The Genma Have Hurt Her Before Too, And She Recently Told Me...'
Hideyasu Look Downward,
'That's She Engaged To A Wealthy Noble, Kyogoku.'

Akane Spoke With Astonishment,
'The Advisor's Son?'
Hideyasu's Head Sank,
'Yeah, I Guess It's Much Better Than Some Roaming Nomad Of A Ronin...'
His Face Showed The Tears His Eyes Refused To Shed.

Akane Rested A Hand Lightly On His Shoulder,
'I'm Sorry.'
It Wasn't A False, Just-Out-Of-Comfort Apology,
But Hideyasu's Head Was Still More Focused On The Floor,
Than His Consoling Friend.

'If It Helps, I Don't Think You Are Bad. You Are The Son Of Hideyoshi, And You're A Good Friend, I Mean You've Gotten Me Out Of Many Of Undesireble Situations.'

She Blushed As She Recalled Her Last Capture At The Hands Of Uncle Munenori.
She Had Been Tied Down, Used As Bait To Lure The Black Oni To Him.
Akane Recalled Her Suprise That Soki Had Come To Save Her From The Traitor Yagyu Not Once, But Twice, And When She Asked Why He Had Risked His Life To Save Hers, How He Had Replied 'Well I Couldn't Just Leave You, You're My Precious-' His Words Were Cut Short By Munenori's Laughter And An Arsenal Of Threats.

'Jubei?'
Akane Had Been Pulled out Of Her Flashback by Hideyasu.
She Lowered Her Head To Conceal A Slight Blush.
'Oh, Sorry Blue, I Was Just Thinking...'
