Hello again everyone and welcome to another reivew! I finally finished my project on the 1/100 GM, and I will finally be doing a review on him. smile This was one of the first 1/100s to ever come out, so I guess you could call it the ancestor of the MG. wink It was released in the early 1980's, so it's very old, but in my opinion, still has it's own charm about it. This was my first painted kit, and I feel like I did really well. It took me a couple of weeks to finish him, but I love how he turned out and the experience was wonderful! I definitly want to paint more of these 1/100s for practice or a 1/144 as well. So without any further ado, let's dive in and take a look at him. smile
Now, as far as articulation goes....there really isn't any. XD I mean there is, but he's very very limited on what he can do. Thats okay though because since hes such an old kit, model kits back then didn't have much posability, and they mostly came molded in once color on the 1/144 kits. If you get a 1/100, they come in a few colors, so it does break it up a little bit, but these kits were meant to be painted in my opinion. You do have to glue them together, unlike the snap together kits of today, in the beggining, gundam model kits had to be glued and painted to look nice. It really shows you how far we've come in this hobby. smile They give you a shield, his little pop machine gun, and a beam saber that is all white, and a beam saber handle, which you can put on his back to make him look like he's ready for battle. wink As you can see, I had to paint the whole kit, including his weapons, but it was a fun and great experience for me. There are only 3 runners on these 1/100's and no polycaps, this was waaayy before we had polycaps. 0.0
I had such a blast painting and putting this guy together, that it didn't bother me that I had to put some work into him. These model kits are great for learning how to paint, like it was for me, and they are great because you always feel a sense of accomplishment after you're done, and you put him up and see how much work you put into him. smile I'm looking forward to doing this again in the future, and if your interested in starting to paint, and want to practice, then these are the kits for you. They aren't for begginners and they are hard to put together, because of them being as old as they are, but if your determined and you want to try it out, please I highly recommend you do so. smile Below are the pictures that I took of him, in progress, and the finished product.
