Name: Jericho Augur Merula Age: 24 Years Hair: Blond Eyes: Green Height: 5ft 9In Weight: 190lbs
Profession: Military Scientist. Specialty: DNA Recombination Research
The youngest son, out of three, to a Lieutenant General. Jericho found his elder brothers favored over himself due to their stronger physic. Rather then becoming withdrawn and embarrassed, Jericho applied himself with a vicious drive to the one strength he had. His intellect. While he did not advance through his schooling any quicker then his peers, he gained high marks in every one of his military school classes. Jericho did not forge any form of friendships during his years at school. He treated every other student as a personal rival in which to pit himself against. Often his home report cards listed him as needlessly aggressive and devoid of common human compassion.
When Jericho finally graduated, he quickly applied to a military institute for technology and science. Jericho had not specific field in mind when he began his studies, all the better to allow the main focus of the military interest to direct him. DNA manipulation appealed greatly to the student, as the possibilities that it provided seemed to be without number. The ability to play God on such a level filled Jericho with a spark of excitement he had not felt since he was a youngster. As part of his final assignment in his last year of college, Jericho took the DNA structure of a black House Spider and carefully combined it with that of a Oriental Hobby. As both species preyed primarily on the same food sources he believed it would be a better match. The resulting small egg took a relatively short period of time to hatch, and he found himself with a rather unreal looking falcon. With three eyes, feathers as black as coal, a slightly hardened skin resembling a carapace like shell, and a small venom sack located inside it's beak, Jericho's Oriental Spider Falcon gained him not only the highest mark in his class. He also gained the attention of certain military officials who specialized in the creation of hybrid species for military purposes.
Jericho readily, and most eagerly, accepted a position as a scientist in their department. Being so young, and clearly the newcomer, he works under the authority of others. His research has changed slightly to the study of combinations, and to what percentage of DNA predominance, is needed to create desirable personality traits in the creatures created by the department. Jericho dreams of becoming something of his own 'boss' in the near future. He applies himself to his job, but gathers information pertaining to other experiments carried out by other branch's or rouge facilities. It is his belief that, with the proper technology combined with his DNA research, he can create perfect doll like soldiers. Fierce and unquestioning when they are on a mission, then utterly harmless and submissive to a fault when on 'home territory'.
Oriental Spider Falcon : A 8in tall falcon that resembles the Oriental Hobby in shape. The O.S.F. has venom sacks located within it's beak. When it pecks, it releases tiny droplets of venom. This venom is highly toxic. A single peck can affect a adult sized male with high fever, muscle cramps, nausea, and blurred vision. Multiple pecks may result in seizures and possibly death.
The skin of a O.S.F. secrets a thick black oily substance that hardens when exposed to air. This substance forms into a carapace like shell under and around each feathery quill, giving the bird protection against lesser physical dangers. Such as animal attacks from birds or felines. Insect infestations and the like.
The O.S.F. has three eyes. One to the left of it's head, one to the right, and one in the center of it's forehead. Basic studies have concluded that the two eyes to either side of the head appear to only register light and shadows. They can detect movement in this manner. It is only the center eye that picks up images as a human's might.
The O.S.F. has a clearly aggressive nature. It will attack any threat to itself, it's territory, or it's owner. As a new species, and the only one of it's kind currently, it is believed the O.S.F. forms a imprinted bond with the first creature it see's upon hatching. It has been handled with no manner of concern or problem by it's creator. Yet any other attempts to touch of command the bird ends in a aggressive display and in some cases attacks. Further studies on the species has led it's creator to believe it is a sterile creature. Attempts to breed the creature with other species has led to no results, or the death of the breeding female.
