I really don't get Lady Gaga, I keep seeing her name popping up and hearing things about her but really I just don't get it. I've tried listening to her music and I don't see/hear anything outstanding about it or anything new. The only thing I can say that sort of annoys me is that the start of Bad Romance keeps getting stuck in my head and them singing it on Glee 2 weeks ago really didn't help.
So I guess a good majority of her hype comes from her sense of fashion and maybe the music videos. And even then with all of the things that she prances around in I just don't feel that she's being authentic with it. You know when you see someone do something and you know right away that they are merely doing it for the attention or the shock value but it all feels so fake. No matter what she says or what anyone else says to try to convince me otherwise that's the feeling I get with Gaga. Maybe the fake feeling I get is because all of the stuff that I've seen her in and all I've already seen in the past by other greater ground breaking artists and fashionable people. So it seems like her style has been ripped off from others.
But then who would notice unless you're more aware of those people from the past? Know your history or you're doomed to repeat it right? UGh I can just see someone doing the same thing as her 10 to 15 years from now after she's faded away and all of the fans would gripe how that person ripped Gag's adopted style off.
Now as I said in the title you can keep her, she's not the first to do amazingly stylish and daring things. I'm showing my age here but give me Grace Jones any day. Yeah she was the black model/sing with the boxcut back in the day (it was stylish back then I swear!). Google her and look at the images. Yeah that dark 5'10½" tall woman with the muscular physique and hard looks and has soften over the years. She has a unique look to her that is so beautiful backed her her amazing confidence. Do you see some of the stuff she is in even as she's in her 60s?! That's something to be impressed with. How in the hell can I even think that much of Gaga when most of the things I see her doing I've already seen?
Oh and the fact that my name is Lady Bern has absolutely nothing to do with her, I've been going by this name long before she came along. And my screen name comes from how my late grandmother's name was, Her first name was Queen, no lie and because of that people would either say bother her first and middle name or just call her Queenie.
