While my net was down I watched some Good Morning America and was oddly confused by this one piece done about what Barbie would look like if she were a real woman.
That was the model given to stand by. I don't know but somewhere in my mind I have to wonder where they got these measurements from. Yeah I know Barbie isn't to scale. But instead of just enlarging the doll for some reason they did it part by part to scale, and I think something got mixed up along the way. Anyhow it just doesn't look right to me. Maybe it's the head throwing it off for me.
That aside I don't know who is going around striving to look like Barbie or a Barbie doll but to me I think they've missed the point. At least with the later dolls. Yes she is a fashionable doll there is no denying that. But to me Barbie was more about inspiring girls to be something (nowadays at least). I had the gymnastics Barbie, the sporty one, Astronaut Barbie, doctor, teacher, so on and so forth. Barbie to me was a doll who could tell girls to dream more to be more. There was even that Wheelchair Barbie friend Becky. It's such a shame they took that off the market. Not to be funny but they really should make a line of handicapable Barbie dolls.
Better than Bratz any day in my book. Monster High is cool, their concept is unique but whoever comes up with the story lines for the webtoons or whatever needs to be shot. What kind of after school special are they dreaming up?
