~*We have something in common.
Today was another final day, which means today was another hour of lunch. Kids literally poured out of the school, and I was just eager to find Chris Arneson. Chris is my friend from CCA, and I hardly get to see him so this was my chance to eat with him. I left my locker without thinking about Kenny and met up with Chris. He was with Rodney, another stupid kid from CCA, and a group of other Asians.
’Where’s Kenny, man!? Dude!’ They all asked. I replied, I don’t know. But when Sonie came up to me, and Matthew reminded me how I’ve ignored his presence lately I had to find him. But he made it difficult for Chris and I.
Since I don’t have my phone still I had to text Kenny with Chris’s phone – which was difficult because I’m not used to his phone. He could’ve texted him himself – I don’t know why! Here’s the confusion:
Where r u? You ditched me so I went to Panda Express with some friends. Chris and I walked over to Panda Express. He wasn’t there. Dude! We just got here, you’re not here. I was waiting for you at the school! Chris and I walked over to the school. Not there.
He later on told us he was at Jack in the box, Rodney and several others said he was with a group of black kids. Chris and I gave up – and I didn’t want to talk to Kenny. I wanted to catch up with Chris. While talking to Chris I’ve noticed how much we had in common. He was easy to talk to, not serious. Not rude, but he was pure. What he’s been through I could relate to. It was nice to be honest with him – knowing that he didn’t know me that well. We weren’t friends in middle school, we never talked till like the end of 8th grade, nor till now.
Rumors do spread, and I’m rumored as Chris’s girlfriend, not Kenny’s. I think that’s cute. :] It was nice. I’ve learned a lot. Just by talking to him by myself and not worrying about Kenny.
But when we left to our next period – we didn’t say goodbye.
I didn’t say bye to Kenny, either.
