My Journal
A bunch of stories I wrote so friends can read them without me wasting ink. Warning: They mostly consist of [attempted] yaoi. All having to do with Yu Yu Hakusho. [HieiXKurama]
Alone Again Chapter 7
“What do you mean?” Hiei asked.

“Just that. He said he couldn’t go back home.”

“Do you know why?”

Yuusuke and Kuwabara shook their heads.

Hiei got back up onto his feet and left. “Wow, he’s worried,” Kuwabara said. “Of course, it’s Kurama we’re talking about here,” Yuusuke responded and lay back onto his bed. “Let’s get some sleep.”

The fire-demon went back over to his redhead, taking his seat right next to Kurama where he was before. Questions rang into his head once more. But now he had some clues to answer them.

‘Okay, now I know he didn’t want to go home, but why? Could he have…,’ his eyes widened as he realized. “He did it,” he whispered to himself, “He actually told her…”

Morning…

Yuusuke strolled down the sidewalks of his neighborhood, enjoying his morning walk. He may seem like the guy who likes fighting ALL the time, but he’s just like any other guy; he likes to have quiet sometimes.

He rounded the corner that was about a block away from Mieow High School, when he spotted her… Shiori. “Why is she out here?” he muttered to himself. He was about to turn around when she called him, “Yuusuke,” she said. He turned to face her, his face emotionless.

“Hm?” She was a little taken back by his face, but relaxed. “Do you know where Shuuichi is?” she asked him. “No,” he lied. He knew Shiori had something to do with Kurama not wanting to go back home, so he lied, wanting to find out why. “I haven’t seen him since after school the day before yesterday. Why? What happened?” he asked, digging for information.

“I got upset with him. He told me… something; I got upset and wanted him out. Later that night, yesterday night to be exact, I thought about him. My son, my perfect Shuuichi was something I never dreamed of,” she explained.

Yuusuke quirked his brow up a bit. “What?” he asked. “He told me he was a demon,” Shiori whispered, remembering her conversation with her son.

-Flashback-

((RRK: The Prologue and some of the first chapter will be used.))

"Tell me your secrets, it's okay to let it out," she had said to him, "Don't be afraid of the outcome."

"No," he replied.

"Why, Shuuichi?"

"Mother-"

"Don't be afraid."

"..."

"I'll always love you; no matter what.”

"...Alright."

“Where should we start?”

“I’ll start from the beginning…”

Shiori nodded and sat quietly for her son to begin. He took in a deep breath.

“Although I seem human, I am not. I am a demon who goes by the name of Youko Kurama; the reasoning for my nickname. I was the greatest thief of all the Makai, stealing anything I could get my hands on that was valuable. Gold, jewels, paintings, all sorts of beautiful, one-of-a-kind treasures.

“Though I was heartless, I had a best-friend that helped in my thieving. He was a bat demon, Kuronue.

“It was with him that my story begins.

“One night, we heard of a mirror made of solid gold and had precious stones embedded in it. It had the power the grant any wish, no cost at all. The next day we planned our attack on the castle that held it and the night was when we put our plan into action.

“We were in and out in mere minutes. But Kuronue had tripped and set off an alarm, for the guards were on our tails. One guard caught up and took a swing at Kuro, missing him by few centimeters, but his necklace got cut off.

“He had told me his story of the necklace, telling me that it was once his sister’s. She had given it to him while they lived with their abusive father. He had beaten her to a near death state, and gave Kuro the necklace, saying that she’ll be watching. Kuro watched his sister’s life fade away and when it disappeared completely, he struck his father.

“Now since the necklace was so precious, he went back for it. Even if the guards were a while back and called for him to come back, but he kept going. He triggered trap, breaking through a thin wire, and sharpened bamboo pierced his body all the way through.

“‘Keep going, Youko,’ I remember him saying, ‘I’ll be watching,’ with that, the guards finished him off. I stood in silence as my only friend was taken from me, then I ran away.” Kurama paused to shudder at the painful memory then continued.

“I could barely stand the pain anymore, and killed more than I thieved, but ended up taking whatever the demon had of value. One day, about half-a-year from Kuro’s death, I got real cocky and went to steal a Rekai treasure from the King Enma himself.

“I nearly got away with it, but one of the guards shot me. I was terribly wounded, probably at death’s door, but I had the will to keep living. So I took off to Ningenkai, the human world, where I took form in a woman’s womb, which being yours, mother.

“I grew into Shuuichi Minamino, your son, me. It was supposed to be only ten years that I lived as a human, and then I would have disappeared. But in those years I developed emotions, and I couldn’t bear to leave you alone. And I guess I can end my story here for now,” Kurama said and looked up to his mother.

“Mother?”

‘He’s a demon… My son, I gave birth to a demon?!’ she asked herself.

"Is it true?" She asked him. Kurama nodded. She suddenly rose out of her chair, in anger, and pointed to the door. "Out of my house!"

"But-"

"I said out! Take your leave, now!"

-End Flashback-

“Shiori?” Yuusuke asked.

“Oh, sorry, Yuusuke. I must’ve blanked out,” Shiori apologized.

“So what did happen?”

“I asked him to tell me his secrets, thinking that they wouldn’t be so bad, and he did. I told him to leave my house. His crying face was the last memory I have of him,” Shiori explained and broke down crying onto the detective’s shoulder.

Yuusuke patted her back. “It’s okay, we’ll find him,” he cooed, and although he already knew where Kurama was, he still kept quiet. “If I see him, I’ll tell you, or tell him that you want him home.” Shiori nodded and lifted her head. “Thank you, so much,” she said, “And tell him I’m sorry if you do.”

“Will do,” he said, giving off a small salute and she walked off.
