For a change, Adam's mum picked us up from my house instead of my parents bringing us over there. She was half an hour late, as she usually is, but that was alright since we weren't in a hurry. However, an accidental turning off of the computer at 6PM caused us to sit around and kill time without the internet. I pulled out an old Warhammer book entitled Ogre Kingdoms, and Adam remembered Trevor (because he used to play Warhammer, not because he looks like an Ogre) and say, “Hey, we need to have another game of Warhammer with Trevor.” I’m pretty sure I didn’t say no with my voice, but I probably said it just as well with my face. I didn’t want to return to that. That state of being... I’d been there and it wasn’t fun.
By the time we realised, it was too late to borrow Austin Powers: Goldmember and Death At A Funeral from the video shop down the road, and we didn’t want to go to the one near Adam’s house because last time, we dawdled and his mum went psyche. Instead we flicked on to channel Ten just in time for Gladiator. I don’t know what it is about that movie, but every time it comes on TV (which is about once every few months for this networks), I feel an urge to watch it. Later on, we watched five consecutive episodes of Friends (3AM, through the magic of Foxtel) and Hot Fuzz (on Adam’s laptop).
