Some we think long and hard about, some are made in the fraction of a second. Get up or stay in bed? Answer the phone or let the machine get it? Dodge left, dodge right, or just plow down the middle? Make the shot or pass it to your buddy? The surprising thing is, even the smallest decision can have an unimaginable effect in the end. It doesn't even have to be the end for you to look back and realize how big of an impact that choice had.


When we have the time to decide, we weigh what we know, or think we know, and usually try to make the best of the situation. This can vary from the school you go to to whether or not to buy that second sandwich. For me, because of the school I chose to go to, I met my best friend, a couple foolish drunks, and little man that taught physical education.


Not too long ago I went to drink with some friends, and friends of friends. I chose to drink lightly, partly due to not knowing my tolerance and partly because of seeing how much the others were hoping to drink. In the end, 5 of 10 people puked, and I was one of five cleaning up. I could have easily been the 6th person blowing chunks, and things could have ended up worse than they were.


Decisions are interesting things; they are the reasons why we meet, part, love, hate, live and die. By writing this, I could easily cause a reader to think a bit harder about a decision they were about to make, or just as likely have no affect at all on the choice. The fact that you've read this far has proven you made a decision to read this entire piece, or at least skim to this part; I hope the former. I thank you for taking time to read this, and hope that you'll consider just how big of an impact any choice you make can have.
