Cold, broken-here I lie
my lips purse-refusing any 'Goodbye'.
Salty, bitter tears pool in space,
The life has been abolished-light will never more beam from this place.
Is there redemption to be found in this life?
Contempt pours fourth from an embittered heart
my hopes and small joys have met nothing but strife,
indifferent tears are my only mark as from this world I depart.
If people had known why would they care
isn't it better to let only one fade in utter dispair?
The world will turn tomorrow-this is not one of my lies
Hush-things will be better when you wake-do not cry.
Is there redemption to be found in this life?
I know no medicine exists to sooth this fragmented hear.
All hopes and small joys have met only strife,
There is no way to prevent this final separation of parts.
For you tomorrow is just another day-the next chance for a smile,
I loathe the morning and hate the night-they are most vile.
Why is my heart so heavy-what have I done?
Now I realize not everyone is meant to live-my time has come.
Is there redemption to be found in this life?
What can be done when you are numb to the heart?
In this life there is nothing for hope and joy but strife,
Time has run on-no farewell-I depart.

- Title: As I Depart
- Artist: Maegan Lali
- Description: This is something I wrote on a day when I was feeling particularly down. In my continual battle with depression sometimes it helps to purge myself of these darker thoughts through writing.
