So there she stands
Holding Mommy's hand
Black briefcase,
Stiff white collar,
Daddy has no time for play
He waves to his girls
From his metal, black steed.
She watches him drive away.
Plastic princess crown
lopsided, tawny brown hair
"Daddy, look at me!"
But soon, she can see
Daddy has no time for play.
Time passes
Daddy grows feeble
She knows he has to move on
It doesn't matter, she's all grown up
Daddy's work here is done.
When she sees the earth
When he finds the light
The casket comes out
Tears blurr by the sight
She has four parting words,
Four last chances.
the Princess whispers
"Daddy, look at me."

Description:
I can't really tell if this is a song or a poem. I do that a lot, because the way I write a good poem is to set it to the beat of a song I like.
Anyways, thankfully, this poem isn't about me. I have a wonderful father who is opposite of the Daddy in my poem.
I got my inspiration because I was watching out the window when I saw a black car pull into someone's driveway. xD - Date: 04/09/2009
