    Ticking in my head
    Swirling around until all I see it red
    There's something ticking

    Like the ticking of a clock
    Though unlike a clock it is hidden
    Hidden behind every single lock

    Sending fear into my bones
    The fear that makes one hide within their home

    Like a steady and gentle rain
    Like a heart that has seen to much fear and pain

    Like the sound of breaking glass
    Like a thundering storm with no wish to pass

    There's something ticking

    But what is truly ticking?
    What is it that I hear?

    Ticking in my ear

    A Heart in a cage

    To pour out all her hurt and rage
    The Heart is ticking

    Trying to forget her pain
    Though her trying is all in vain

    Wanting to scream for blood
    As her anger builds into an icy black mud

    Will she open her cage?
