Getting high meant swinging on the playground?
When protection meant wearing a helmet?
The worst thing you could get from boys were cooties?
Dad’s shoulders were the best on earth
And mom was your hero?

Your worst enemies were your siblings
Race issues were about who ran the fastest
The only drug you knew was cough medicine
Wearing a skirt didn’t make you a slut
The only thing that hurt you was skinned knees
Goodbyes only meant until tomorrow.

I want to cry. Why? Because growing up sucks! When you were 10 u couldn't wait to drive; now ur in an accident. When u were 7 u couldnt wait to have ur first kiss; now ur a slut cuz a kiss turned in to sex. When u were 4 u couldn't wait to get a job; now u have an @sshole boss and can't wait ot quit.
If we knew wat was coming when we grew up, no one would want to.
