Winter

  waiting for a springs blaze,
  I myself look forward to
  The icy, cold amaze
  
  Of a beautiful winter
  Where children play,
  Men shiver,
  and I sip hot chocolate all day.
  
  Then comes christmas, with the joy
  From the children, rushing down
  the stairs, girls and boys
  to see what awaits them, and greet it without a frown.
  
  But, alas, it must end
  when jack frost moves away,
  and spring takes a bend
  to send the cold to play.
