• School has ended and so has the celebrations for it. Summer is time for fun in the sun. Something Yuffie no longer had the luxury to anymore. “Stupid vampire. No good son of a-” she grumbled. Amos had said he wanted to protect her but protect her from what? Having fun?

All of her friends were out at the beach. One-by-one they stopped believing her various reasons why she couldn't come out to play. As they stopped believing they also stopped calling. Not like it really mattered anyways. She had not felt close to them since this whole thing happened.

Another person that was missing was Amos. She keep expecting he would just show up in her room, or just be standing somewhere like he was always there. There was so many questions for him. How long can I be in the sun? How often do you need to feed? Also, the most important question of them all. Why me?

Yuffie wasn't given a guide on “How to live as a vampire” or any other help. As a result she spend most of her summer inside. Sleeping, reading, TV or eating. Wasn't to excited or even interesting. When ever she started to go crazy from being into the house she would go for a walk at night.

A few weeks passed like this. Without an answer. Each day the questions picked at her a little more. It become to much to bear. So, one night she grabbed her jacket and went into the garage. She figured the best place to find Amos might be the spot he turned her. Yuffie grabbed her parents keys and decided to take one of their cars up there.

After the start drive she pulled up to the building. Whoever lived here was either not home or not a vampire. All the lights were off and not car in the driveway. Nothing to show anyone was here. Yuffie sat in the car a little disappointed about her results. She didn't want to give up the search so thought of a new plan.

Downtown was the only place still awake at this time of night. That was were all the clubs and few 24 hour stores were located. Yuffie drove to one club she heard of but was instantly turned away due to her age. “Can't a high school age girl get into a club these days?” she grumbled to herself. With a sigh Yuffie figured she might have more luck if she stayed on foot. Then sighed at the lack of results and decided to just walk around.

The night air was so refreshing Yuffie almost forgot why she out here in the first place. She walked down the streets that were beautifully lite by business signs and street lights.

This sense of peace didn't last long though. Yuffie looked behind her and saw that a person was following. At first she held hope that it was Amos but this person was a bit to short for that. As they moved closer her thoughts were proven. She walked a little faster, and so did they.

Fear rose in her chest but then she remembered what she was. There was no reason to be afraid when she had the upper hand on this human. She walked down an alley, knowing they would follow.

“You're trapped now,” the stranger said.

“No, you are the trapped one,” she said with a growl that showed her fangs.

The man looked worried for a moment, then he suddenly laughed. Now, Yuffie was the worried one again. “Now, now Miss,” the man replied, “It is not nice to growl at your own kind.” The man grinned showing his own pair of fangs.
