• "My name . . ."

Hands moved in a circular gesture in front of him but the boy could not process the involuntary information. What was his name?

He blinked, wondering how such insanity could have prospered so successfully in making his mind drown into an empty obis. The words were no longer there as they were in the morning. His head spun as his heart fell. Knowledge was certain of the time of day, day of month and year, place of habitation, country of origin but somehow lacking vital information.

    Soft sounds filled his ears.

He looked around, trying to focus on the dreadful noise.

It appeared to be a group of girls giggling at his misfortune. Heat rushed to his face. The room started to get too hot.

Due to such instances, he rose from his seat, pushed the chair in gently under the large desk and turned, not daring to say goodbye to the prospect.

    "Sir . . ."

The prospect did not seem to care all too much of his well being as he opened the door, walked through and allowed the door to hang open. The prospect was at no fault. It was a shame, though, that those girls were watching him.

He could not understand why. Did they find interest in him externally or just his misfortune?

The girls were of some specialty, yes, but not fare enough for him to stop and gawk. Their noise were a tone off for his body to handle, but he held it in. He would release his dissatisfaction later. Another time, place and planet was more suited.

He passed the girls without sparing a glance. Their noise still shot knifes through his ear canals. He would be out of earshot soon. He took grasp of that fact with the utmost pleasure.

Once passed the girls, he breathed a sigh of relief. The long hall thankfully was not crowded beside the sporadic bystander whose head was shoved in a larger than average reading book. He loosened his tie, then shoved his hands gently in his slacks' pocket.

The day, he thought, was no closer to evaporating than it was waking from slumber early morn.

The walk lasted longer than anticipated, but finally the hole ended. He pushed the glass door, inhaling the scent of earth as the air become calmer and clean.
